I bought my Logitech mouse MX1000 from newegg on 01apr05 Invoice # 10376702. After setting up the mouse on the usb port it had erratic cursor jumps. I contacted support with the following: [Incident: 050413-000224] [Incident: 060227-002943]. After doing the Recommendations that they had I still had the erratic cursor jumping. At the time I did not know enough about the mouse and assumed that I was doing something wrong and used the ps2 port. I now know that the early version of this mouse have problems using the usb port.

I have read on line that other people have had the same problem as I have with the mx1000 and that they have called Logitech and they replaced their mouse at no extra charge. I have replaced my ps2 keyboard with a usb keyboard and now I have to use the usb ports for the mouse so I do not have a ps2 port to use. The bios will not support a mix of usb and ps2. I tried three times to call support@ (7022693457) to get a replacement and have been left on hold.

I gave up on calling long distance since I didn't want to pay for the hold time. On 28Feb06 I wrote a letter to Logitech and did receive a call from them. I was not available at the time of the call but did call them back and did get thru to them. On 24mar06 I talked to Kelly and he said that he would send out a new receiver under [Incident: 050413-000224]. This is kind of like a Band-Aid for the problem since they should have replaced both the mouse and the receiver. As of 28Apr06 I have not received anything from Logitech. Logitech has not honored their warranty but also not followed up on what they told me that they would do. Bottom line for me is that when buying Logitech products not to expect them to warranty their products.
