Around 10:30am in Midtown East (34th & Madison) a short black man approached me asking for directions to a Bed Bath and Beyond. I explained to him that I did not know one in the area and he proceeded to walk away but quickly came back to me and complimented my voice. He (talking very quickly, very s****.>

Anyway, he claimed he was the Casting Director for several Nickolodeon programs and that he was bi-costal. He claimed he was in town for a short while but that he was in the Viacom offices in Time Square. After agreeing to let him cast me for the part of a monkey on one of the new shows, he called his assistant. To help ease my skepticism, he allowed me to listen to the Viacom directory pick up on the phone and then quickly asked for the phone back so he could speak to his assistant. After telling her that he had found someone on the street to cast for the part, he told her to call his wife and ask that she pick him up from LAX later that evening. As we continued to walk, he told me of his wife and children back home (2 sons, ages 32-36) and how he played piano and could provide me tickets to a few Broadway shows if I was interested. When i told him I played piano as well, he said he would be the person to get me back involved in it. He added that he may want to fly me out to the West Coast for some voice over taping. 

He then followed me to a nearby Bank of America and said he would wait outside. I withdrew $380 and put it in an envelope along with my business card. On the envelope I provided him with my full name, personal email address and telephone number. I also added that I lived in Brooklyn. 

I handed everything over and even gave Mr. Evans a hug goodbye.

I went to the 13th precinct and reported him immediately. I hope this never happens to anyone else, ever again.
