We bought a puppy from them and were warned that litter beside them had puppy strain and to have vet check for that.  Ours had 3 little knots on head that I thought from puppies playing.  The first vet gave us towels dipped in solution to apply to it.  About 3 months later we noticed that it was losing hair and had little scabs on his hind quarters.

We took it to new vet who scraped it and said it was hereditary mange, so we have to have dips once a week for 3 months to hopefully get rid of it.  We contacted the kennel and were told they needed proof and it was outside of the contract period to get refund.

We send proof it takes them a long time to look at it and they say well its been to long but we might give you money back if you want to return it.  We spent alot of money on getting rid of the worms, getting ears done, and trying to get rid of mange and they want us to return it and maybe get half of our money back I don't think so.

If you look up red mange it will tell you that you usually do not see signs until they are about 3 months old.  You think with all the money they get from these puppies they could at least take them to the vet to get wormed and shots and everything else.  But they don't they do the cheap shots you buy from farm store that do not work.

Lucky Puppy Kennels are very healthy

AUTHOR: LH - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, February 15, 2019

I have gotten a couple of Dobies from Lucky Puppy and I will continue to get my dogs from them.  I have NEVER had any health issues with my dgos.  Fawns and Blues are highly suspectable to alopecia, which sounds like what was the real problem in the original report.  It is very unfortunate the puppy was purchased before doing research.

Had research been done prior to buying the puppy, they would have known this is a potential problem with the breed.  It also sounds like they didn't truly listen to their vet either.  IF they had and they have a reputable vet, they would have known that shots, worming, etc. would do nothing at all to help the condition.  The only true way to keep alopecia at bay is a strict vitamin and oil regiman.

I have an 8-year old fawn and a 3-year old blue from Lucky Puppy.  I did my homework first and because of that, my dogs have always been healthy.  No skin issues or anything else. I think it is a shame this individual is blaming the breeder for their own ignorance.

Lucky Puppy Kennel does NOT have red hair mange

AUTHOR: Zira - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, November 07, 2010

Sorry for the first report. I did not not know that the vet that I took my dog to was just out for the money.  He even did a skin scrape and said it was red hair mange.  Spent hundreds on mange dips so my doberman would not lose his hair.  He was on Purina One Large Breed puppy food and after the dips his hair did start to look better but when Purina changed their formula a lil bit later his hair started falling out more.  So decided to try holistic dog food (Blue Buffalo) after reading reviews, his hair started growing back in and his coat is shiny (and soft) all within a month.  Yeah the dog food is expensive but so worth it I guess he was allergic to something in Purina probably the grains.  I do not have 5 dogs in my house I only have 3 and I have all 3 on this dog food.  I would recommend Blue Buffalo to anyone who wants the best for their furry babies.

What has happened to honesty?

First of all, the name signed to this report has never bought a puppy from us.  Why would he not sign his real name?  If he is so in the right, why is he afraid to let people know who he is?

The first phone call we recieved from this person, he was verbally aggressive and abusive.  He started making treats before I even knew what was going on.  He stated that he took his puppy to the vet he had been using "for many years" as soon as he got him home and the vet gave him a clean bill of health.  Three months later, he said the dog's hair started falling out and for some reason, he took the dog to a different vet other than the one he was using for years, I could not get a clear answer on why.  He says the vet diagnosed the dog with heriditary mange and prescribed costly dip treatment that "had to be done at the vets office".  I have spoken to my vet and if it even is hereditary mange, doubtful since none of the litter mates show any problems (yes, I do keep in contact with many of our puppy homes) it is curable with a simple dip or pour on medication used several times.  I asked him when he calmed down what he expected to come of this and he stated that he wanted me to refund the purchase price.  I told him to return the dog to me and I would either give him another puppy or see what I could do.  He said he could not do this that he was attached to the dog.  I told him I would like him to fax all the vet reciepts to me to look at and he agreed to do this.  He then started getting verbally abusive again and said that he wished he would have known this before he bought the dog (he did, it is stated in the contract he signed) and that he has five other dogs inside his house that he hasn't had problems with.  I questioned having five dogs in one house and told him I would have liked to known that before I sold him the puppy.  I then stated that I couldn't do anything without getting the dog back, that you didn't try to get a refund from a store without returning the merchandise as an example.  He said he couldn't do that, so I asked him what he wanted me to do, and he said "nothing".  I said why did we go through all this arguing?  He said "I wanted to let you know."

Approximately two to three weeks later we recieved the faxes.  I'm just going to say they looked very unprofessional.  He called a few days later to see if I got them.  I told him I needed a little while to go over them and to speak to my vet.

About another month passes and he calls again, this time even more threating and abusive.  I told him what my vet said about it being treatable at home so why was he paying so much to have it done at the vet?  He said he couldn't do it because he couldn't fill up his tub and that the dip smelled too bad.  Once again he got angry and started threatening me, so I told him to do what he felt he needed to do and hung up.

Next thing I know, he has posted these lies.  I have never even recieved a picture of the dog.

As to the "puppy strain" he mentioned, it is actually puppy strangles and yes, another litter did have a few with it.  It is much like a cold and the nose and eyes run.  We treated that litter with amoxicillin from the vet.  We told everyone about it because we wanted their vets to look out for it because, as with any kind of infant, left untreated it could get worse.

Also, we do not buy "cheap vaccines from some farm store."  Our vaccines are Vanguard Plus 5 made by Phizer Pharmacuetical, shipped overnight, in cold storage by Revival Animal Supply.  His shot record has the sticker from the bottle used on his puppy attached to it.

I have many references of many people that are very happy with our dogs.  This is the only complaint and it is completly fabricated.
