Mac Construction Ltd. Darren MacFarlane RIP OFF ~ LIAR ~ USER ~ TAKES SENIORS MONEY ~ MEAN ~ SWEARS ~ Calgary, Alberta

On August 14th, 2012 I seen an ad in the Kijiji Calgary for a "HOTTUB" it read "This hot tub has a working pump & heater. It needs a little TLC. Needs some wood siding redone.

So I called the ad and spoke with Darren himself and he told me he bought the home and this was a working tub as he used it for a few months. But it had sat inside a deck and he tore the deck apart and didn't need the tub. I told him the tub was for my stage 3 colon cancer father who needed it for relaxation while going through his treatments. 

Darren then told me the tub was an excellent working tub, but would need a few crack repairs on the top part of the tub and that it didn't affect the area that the water was in. So I asked him if I could come see it and he gave me the address, but I never was able to make a time to see this thing. So he told me it was a great tub and that he would delivery it to Airdrie for me. 

I trusted him because he was from my home town of Selkirk Manitoba and his uncle owned the restaurant where I first worked as a teenager. Then after we talked for a bit I felt confortable with him telling me he would sign a bill of sale to proove there was nothing wrong with his tub. 

I got $450.00 cash from my father and Darren and his male friend brought the tub out on his truck. My hubby had just came home and looked at the tub and said that tub is cracked way more then Darren let on. We noticed cracks on the seat areas and down the wall of the tub. So he didn't want to take it, so Darren got a bit upset with me as I told him we were not sure of we would take it now or not. And then Darren said "look I brought it all this f'ing way and you better take it as I am not taking it back with me now" So me being nervous I said to my hubby he is very mad so lets just take it ok. Plus he had another big muscle dude with him and I didn't want to start a fight with him as we would surely lose. 

Darren gave me a number and name of his best friend he told us and that he would repair the cracks for free for us. His name was Doug Irwin, so I called Doug the next day and he told me that Darren ripped him off for a couple of jobs he did for him as well and that he was NOT best friends and that Darren NEVER even told him about this tub he sold to us and that Doug would repair it for free.

So I gave him the money (cash) and he signed the bill of sale and I gave him a copy, and as soon as the tub was in our back yard he and his friend bolted and he said he had no time for small talk. I found that strange for sure as he was pleasant to me up until he got his cash and ditched the tub in our back yard.

My hubby looked at the motor and pump and neither worked and both are cracked! The lines inside are all frozen up and cracked as well so Darren never used this tub at all. It was an OLD frozen tub he pawned off on a poor dying senior. Thanks alot for being so mean to a SENIOR and you took his whole paycheck that month because all he got for a pension at the time was $529.00 and we trusted you. SHAME ON YOU DARREN! 

PS: I called Darren about 6 times and he just swore at me and hung up and said BUYER BE WARE!
