I searched the online job posting system on massageenvy.com as well as the state employment system for open positions at massage envy places in south Florida. I found 20 or more openings posted on both websites. I applied to all of them within 40 miles of my house. I was told STRAIGHT UP by ALL of them that we are not hiring MALE massage therapists right now. I was hired as a 'salesman' by one location and was asked to do many unethical things. These included misrepresenting contract terms to clients, billing clients for services they didn't receive, and many others. While I was there two female therapists were hired all the while I am being told that there is no room for me to work doing what I am actually good at.

Moral of the story:

1. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!!!!!
2. When you pay high taxes it is because you are paying for the living expenses for destitute male massage therapists who are willing to work and have applied for jobs and turned down by all the  places that hirte massage therapists (95% of them massage envy franchisees) while female  therapists were hired behind them.

Unbelievable

Come on, for heavens sake! I'm not having my wife go to no massage spa where some hunk is going to be rubbing her back, buddy. If that means that spa is only going to hire women, then TOUGH LUCK. Train for another career, or get whatever further training you need to do your craft under medical auspices.

Really?

Your kidding right?  Perhaps more women go to this place and more women want a woman massage therapist rather than a male therapist.  Guess what happens then...they hire more women.  But if you are really that upset about not getting hired I am sure you can find some doctors that could "fix" the situation.

As for the rest it seems like that may be more of a disgruntled ex-employee who is upset that they were not hired as a massage therapist.
