Maxlend Employee makes an error with account number funds not deposited. They say I owe them $500. Internet

 I applied online for a loan for $500 with Maxlend. Maxlend then called me to verify my income, banking information, address and etc... I gave them the routing numbers and account numbers for both of my checking accounts. I have income from two sources that I receive at different times of the month. They decided to go with the higher income amount. A three way call was made to my bank to verify my routing and account number. I was told the funds would be direct deposited into my account the next day. The next day came, I checked my account and no money had been deposited. I called Maxlend and was told the money had been deposited and to call my bank. I called my bank and they told me no money had been deposited. They also didn't see any pending . I called Maxlend back and was told one of their employees had put the wrong account number for my banking information . The representative then told me I wouldn't receive the money until the next day. I asked how could this have happened when a three way call was made to my bank to verify my info. Her reply was people make mistakes. I told her to cancel the loan. She told me it would go into effect the same day. I have been receiving calls and text messages saying I owe them $500. I asked them why would I pay you money for money I never received. One of their employees/ representatives asked me to send her my bank statement. I refused and told them if the routing number and account number didn't coincide how could the funds be deposited. I never received the money but you want me to just GIVE YOU $500. These people are scam artists!!!
