MCI Residential Services continues to collect Federal Exercise Taxes, after Feds eliminated tax in August 2006 Ripoff Atlanta Georgia

Received my phone bill and noticed that MCI was continuing to charge the Federal Exercise Tax. Called customer service and was switched from one person to another. I said I would pay all but the Exercise tax and I was told if I did not pay the whole bill including the tax, that it will show a balance due and a late charge. Are they kidding me?

This charge of .66 may not seem like a lot but if you multiply that by the number of customers they have and then multiply that by the 7 months since the FEDS repealed the tax, you are talking very large sums of money.

MCI assured me they would be refunding the taxes back to their customers, but could not tell me when or why they would continue to collect money they intend to return.
This sounds very fishy to me and sounds like they are collecting interest and use of my money with no definitive plan to stop or repay.
