Had many advertisement in newspapers about a free Xbox 360 system with any purchase of one of there computer systems

When called to purchase one, they said it was only on new 2007 models, then why would you advertise the 2006 models with the free Xbox, makes no sense only to deceive you of there promotions

and they dont even use the 2006 models, they replace most parts with out dated parts for example the processor, they only provide you with left overs, but the 2007 has the top notch processors, these MDG are out to rip people who dont know nothing about computers

I emailed them with my complaint 3 months ago, no reply

False advertisement is false advertisement regardless of the amount of space allotted

AUTHOR: Davids - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, July 28, 2007

Your justification of MDG's false advertisement is illogical.
Changing the phrase "on all computers & laptops + models" to "on all 2007 models" actually saves more space.

In my case, the advertisment should have been changed to "on selected models*", with a footnote saying "that costs in excess of $1600". This change also saves space.

With regards to the 2007 models, they are not made of top quality parts. I bought a Vision L 2007 models, which contained a Pentium D 925 processor that was deceitfully named "Intel(R) Two Core Processor". Pentium D processors are at least 2 years old. Pentium D 925 just came out recently -- at a drastically reduced price -- because Intel planned on stopping the production of its series. In fact, Futureshop and BestBuy offers computers with the same or better components than the Vision L 2007 model at as much as half the MDG's price.

I've noted more details of my experience in another report.

MDG Ripoff? or Consumer Angst

AUTHOR: Aa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 25, 2007

There's no false advertising, MDG has 1 full page at most to get all of their information about the sales into that small amount of print. & as far as advertising goes, it's better to show you what the product looks like & have the specs & details in fine print, then to show you a tiny picture & go on & on about the system in a larger font. Go into the store or go online & get all of your details, do your research & you'll get exactly what you wanted. that's the way it goes.

Your post seems more like you're upset with the consumer/retail process as a whole. I think you're just venting on one company. & if you really have to buy their top of the line to be truly satisfied with their products, then do so. Think about this too, if I was MDG, why would I sell you crap computer guts when you're ordering the high-end? it's a bad business model & I think that they're being misjudged. I'm a satisfied customer of theirs & I posted my reviews on mynotebookreview.com because they have established relationships with all the major brands in Canada to help you get what you paid for. Register your complaint on that site, & you will have their ear. I hope this will help with your consideration of future purchases.
