I bid on this woman's items in order to find some cheap gently used clothing for my coming baby. Which she then charged me $28.00 shipping for. Waited, and waited and waited items never came.

Filed report with ebay, who instructed me to cancel payment on the check I had wrote to her because the items never arrived, she had nothing to prove she ever mailed the package. So, I did that.

I never did recieve the items, which would have solved the whole problem and I would have sent her a different payment. She went on to call me trailer trash, that my child was a b*****d, as well as a long list of nasty names. She even told other ebay members that I had stolen the check I had written her and wrote it from a closed account. Also, NOT true.

She never could explain where the package had gone/wound up or verify that she even mailed it, yet expected me to pay for it.
Beware!

Let's move on

AUTHOR: A - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 10, 2006

I would like to take into consideration that you were the first person out of close to 160 E-bay members to leave a negative in my feedback, where as I was not the first with you.

You, I, and god know the truth about what happened. I do feel there were many misunderstandings that took place, and we both have different views on who is right or wrong and what actually happened. You maintain your side of the story and I maintain mine.

We obviously dont know each other, and obviously dont know the character of the other very well. I just know that we had a transaction that went horribly wrong and we severely butted heads with each other. Some of your facts in the above account arent true at all.

If you did mail the package Im sorry for that, because I did not receive it. If I had I think that would have eliminated a lot of the problem and drama, because I wouldnt have been accused of stealing your stuff, and you would have received compensation. I still hold that if you can show me proof that you mailed the items, I will chalk it up to it getting lost in the mail and I will in fact pay you the total amount.

Yes, I wish the matter had turned out differently. Yes, I feel bad that we both have such a jaded view of the other. I do apologize for all the drama that has happened over the past few months. This is the only comment I will make on the matter, because Im not willing to continue drawing out the drama with you, as I have expressed to you many times in the past.

I hope this can be placed in the past, and life can be moved on for both of us.

eBay ripoff.

AUTHOR: Jackie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 03, 2006

I believe you Meagan 100%! I to am a seller on eBay and have been for a while. I just started selling about five month's ago but have been on eBay for over three years. I can tell you one thing is not to let this one bad buyer make you upset. If you have proof of her check not clearing because the account was closed then your not in the wrong.

A lot of people don't understand it's not cheap to sell on eBay they charge you for everything and I mean everything so what if you make a few buck's off the shipping charges, do they understand that if they went to the store to buy these item's they would have to drive there pay for the gas to get to the store? no they don't plus pay for sales tax no they don't.

I don't think these people understand it cost's us time and money just to sell are stuff, oh yes and to have to deal with these rude people, they win your auction the next day they want to know where is my stuff? they act like it's going to get to them over night! Yes there is a lot of bad seller's out there but there is also a lot of bad buyer's as well the world is made up of all kind's of people and they all end up on eBay good luck to you.

Amanda R. Loch Ebay ID jewlz2003 ripped me off!

AUTHOR: Meagan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 01, 2006

I am Meagan Renick, aka "notdads" ebay ID.

I am here to tell you the true and correct and complete version of what happened when Amanda Loch ripped me off.

In September of 2005, "jewlz2003" aka Amanda Loch won eight auctions of mine on Ebay. These were all for my daughter's infant clothing, at prices ranging from $0.01 to approximately $1.50 each. In my auctions, it is clearly stated how I charge for shipping, which is: $4.99 for the first item, and $2.99 for each additional item. This is charged this way so that I do not lose out on shipping, and the numerous auction fees, plus that is how I can afford to sell the items for so cheap. I am NOT a dealer or business, and am only liquidating items that my daughter outgrows. Therefore, I am not really in it for the "big money", but merely to clean my house, and make a little on the side while doing so.

Anyhow, at the close of the eighth auction, I sent Ms. Loch an ebay invoice for the eight auctions, plus the discounted shipping. She initially did not respond. I waited a week, and filed a non-paying bidder alert with Ebay for each auction. She then responded, letting me know that she had mailed a "money order". I waited another week. I emailed her to let her know that I still had not gotten payment. She stated that she was late mailing it, and that it was now in fact on the way. I waited yet another week.

Almost one month later, I finally get a personal check for the amount of $41.00 (not a money order), dated October 10, 2005 from Keith P. Holcomb (her boyfriend). I usually don't accept personal checks (only Paypal or money orders), but I figured that I was happy that she had sent payment, even though the check should have been for a few dollars more. Since I had been waiting so long, and am usually really fast at shipping, (check my other feedback), I already had the package ready to be shipped. I went to my bank cashed the check through my account and mailed her package out all in the same trip.

When I got home, I closed the "non-paying bidder" disputes through ebay, and e-mailed her to let her know that I sent the package and closed the disputes, thanking her for her business. She then e-mailed me back that she no longer wanted the package. I told her that I had already cashed the check, and that the package was in the mail. She never responded.

A few more days went by, and I noticed that there was a misc. withdrawl from my bank account for $56.00. The next day, before I could even call my bank, I get something in the mail from my bank. I open it, and to my surprise, it is the check from Keith P. Holcomb Jr. (the one that Amanda Loch sent me stating it was her boyfriend paying), with a huge red stamp across the front stating "ACCOUNT CLOSED". The letter included with the returned/bounced check was from my bank stating that not only had they taken back the $41.00 for the check, but that they also had charged my account $15.00 for returning the check!

I was upset. I had never had this happen to me before, and being an honest ebay seller and buyer, I felt that this was all part of a scheme that she knew that she was ripping me off from the start, by writing me a check on a "closed account".

I contacted her via email to let her know that I had the check returned to me, and to that she stated that she no longer wanted the items, and that she would not pay. After I contacted Ebay to make them aware of the situation, as well as Square Trade, she then started saying that she never received the package, and that is why she "cancelled the check". The check was not cancelled, it was written on a closed account! Further more, since the initial "non-paying bidder" disputes had previously been closed (when I got payment), I had no way to re-open them to pursue her through Ebay. Ebay did in fact refund me my auction fees for those items, since I DID produce proof that the package was mailed.

All of the auctions were mailed together in one package, thus the "shipping discount". She was very rude to me, and I do admit that I got rather rude back with her, but I am not sure what she is trying to pull. I have since forwarded this information on to a collection firm, which billed her and her so called boyfriend for the amount, and recently got a response back from Amanda stating that her and her boyfriend are both in the process of filing for bankruptsy, and that if I wanted to pursue this matter, she would include me in the bankruptsy, so that she doesn't have to pay it, because they "can not afford to pay".

I think this is a lot of work to run from a lousy $41.00 purchase, but apparently she needed the clothing more than I. I am just sorry that I could not have donated them to her needy cause instead of her costing me shipping, bank fees, auction fees, collection fees, positive feedback percentage, and slandering my name like this on the internet. I feel real bad for her. I have chalked this up to experience now. I, unfortunately do not have the same trust in buyers that I once had. I now wait for payment to clear, or I only accept instant payment, so that I don't have to deal with scammers like this anymore in the future.

She put my name out here on the internet for all to read, but then didn't even have the guts to sign her own name to it?

I know the truth, do you, now?

Selling on eBay, a lot of really stupid sellers on eBay

AUTHOR: Larry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 25, 2005

I sell stuff on eBay every once in a while.

One reason some sellers have a high shipping price is that they do not have to pay eBay's selling commission on shipping. It seems to be a common practice on eBay now to offer a $20 item for $.01 plus $25 shipping.

There are a lot of really stupid sellers on eBay. Whether the buyer pays extra for insurance or not, the seller is responsible for getting the item to the buyer. Shipping insurance covers the sender, not the recipient.

Any seller with even half a brain gets some sort of tracking for their shipments. UPS and Fedex automatically give you tracking; you have to pay extra at the post office. I had a buyer once accuse me of not shipping but I had the tracking to verify delivery. She later said she had received several items on one day and forgot that one was mine.

There are so many puzzling facts in this case that it is pretty hard to determine who did what to who. It is odd that the seller says she received the buyer's check, did not deposit it, but claimed it was bogus. Then she said she shipped the goods. Why would she have shipped the goods if the check was bad? The seller claims to have a tracking number but cannot produce it.

Who knows Jim but what I am sure of is this question ... why would a seller send out items before a check clears? It's standard practice for a seller to wait for a check to clear.

It just doesn't make any sense to me that someone would be that stupid; especially someone in the business of selling on e-bay and has been an ebay member for over 5, nearing 6 years. Because of this, I have to lean towards the buyer on this one even though I'm not completely convinced that the buyer didn't get the items.

I have to say that if the seller is innocent and did send out items before the check cleared, it's still the seller's fault any way you slice it. She made a business mistake that cost her if that's the case.

I made my feedback private because she made false claims such as she called the cops because I supposedly stole the check.

I've never had a check bounce. EVER.

Also, I didn't post this to get people to agree or disagree with me. I posted it, so others are aware.

I assure you I never did receive the items.

Look at the Evidence

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 24, 2005

I reviewed the EBay account. She has some negative feedback, I found all of them in the past 12 months. None were about failure to ship. They all had to do with product. You had all positive feedback. However, you hide it now-and she doesn't. She does seem somewhat short when people leave negative feedback.

So here is what I think happen:

1. You sent the check. Your check bounced.
2. You received the items, didn't like them and stopped payment.

In either situation I think you got the items, and didn't pay for them...

insurance question

AUTHOR: A - (U.S.A.)

No, I didn't think to request insurance which is in fact my fault. However for $28.00 I would have thought the seller would have included it.

POSTED: Wednesday, November 23, 2005

What happened was I had my husband write the check. First she claimed (through email) that the check never came. She then claimed the check had come, I waited almost a month while dealing with her harrassment. I did end up telling her I no longer wanted the items and I DID tell her I would be stopping payment on the check per ebays advice because it had been so long, so it never should have been a suprise to her.

In my feedback she flat out lied saying things like "Had to call police for a stolen check" blah blah blah. Just to slander me for other members. Generally I just sell. However I have made my feedback private due to the nasty nature of her comments, and am no longer acting as a member of ebay. (This was the first negative feedback I had recieved.)

As far as if she mailed the items or not, maybe she did. But I never received them, and she never showed me proof that it had been mailed although she did start claiming she had proof. My post master could not, and still can not locate the package anywhere in the system.

It was just an unpleasant experience and I want others to beware. The seller is rude, and when she doesn't get what she wants she says nasty things that sadly aren't even true.

Always read the eBay auction thoroughly

AUTHOR: Annie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 23, 2005

-A-

I'm not here to discuss whether you received the items or not, but I would like to comment on your complaint of the shipping charges.

If you read the seller's auctions, her shipping policy is stated prominently -- additional auctions $2.99 additional shipping for each. You bought 8 items -- first shipping at $4.99 and the remaining 7 at $2.99 = approx. $28.

Do I think this is fair shipping? No, I don't. An infant t-shirt, panties and socks don't cost $4.99 to ship. A zip lock baggie (5 cents) and Tyvek envelope (40 cents) will work. Add on about $1.00 for actual postage and actual shipping cost is about $1.45.

The seller is making her money in her shipping charges. It's the only way a seller can even break even by selling something for a penny -- listing fees alone are about 70 cents an auction now.

Point of this message -- read the auction closely, especially shipping charges. I never bid on anything where shipping isn't disclosed up front, and I won't patronize sellers who make their money through shipping fees.

Some sellers do rip you off..

AUTHOR: Sadie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 06, 2005

I ordered a "Jesus Loves Me" T-shirt for my baby and even though I paid through paypal, it never came. I waited 2 weeks before I questioned the post office and mailed the seller. They said it was on its way, just late. I waited 2 more weeks, making it a month total. They said they would re-send it because they forgot to send it, and had a mix up with some addresses. That was 3 weeks ago and still no shirt. I emailed them again today, and if I don't get the shirt within 2 weeks I will leave negative feedback but that doesn't help when they have 97% positive feedback. There should be something that can be done, but there really isn't. Just warn others about the experience you've had. Add this link in your signature (in your email). I've done that with the ripoff report I filed. It got the word out QUICK! Good luck with the rugrat.

More to question

AUTHOR: Rita - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 06, 2005

I'm still thinking on this one and my thoughts are now more mixed. That seller sold another infant set that went for $0.01 and the buyer got that set and left positive feedback. Another buyer also bought an infant set for $1.25 and left positive feedback. Then another buyer bought more than one set of infant items (at again fairly low prices) and left a list of good feedback.

Out of all of that seller's sales, why would she pick you to try to cheat? Dang I want to be a detective when I gown up. Grins* I'm starting to think that there might be some truth to both sides of the story and that she really may have sent out the items and they got lost along the line.

Another question to you is did you request that she insure them? Dang, I'm just full of questions.

Two bits

AUTHOR: Rita - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 06, 2005

I went and took a look at some of the things you bid on and much of it went for pennies. I believe your side of the story (for the most part) for these reasons... If it was your intent to pass off a bad check, most people wouldn't put their butt on the line for a couple bucks worth of used items. Next, because the items went so cheap, seller's remorse comes to mind.

I do have a question though that bothers me. If the items never came and then you stopped the check because of that...The thought lingers in my mind as to why that check wasn't cashed and cleared in that time span that you were waiting for the items. How much time lapsed between your waiting for the items, and stopping of the check? By the way, that shipping cost was crazy! I saw the items and my thought is that 10 bucks would have been more than enough to ship those few tiny little outfits.

One more reason that I believe you is that when sellers get a check, they wait for it to clear before they ever send out the items, (10 days is the norm) yet she stated (on feedback) that she sent out the items but your check was bad from a closed account. Odd indeed.

Anyway, congratulations on the baby.
