Meijer Inc. Holiday Dinner for suckers grand rapids Michigan

I am writing to inform the public what kind of employer Meijer is. Make no mistake this is not an ordinary gripe. I have worked and still do for this company for over 10+ years

Every year myself and other employees give up our holidays so customers have somewhere to shop. We are not complaining about this...we know what working in retail means.

This year however I thought you would be interested to know how this company is showing its appreciation for its employees. There is no Thanksgiving dinner provided for people working all day or anything provided for working all day Christmas Eve.

Instead we will be provided with a Holiday Party!

Meijer will give us Turkey and Mashed Potatoes with Gravy. This is where we the employees get ripped off. Meijer has decided that we should furnish everything else. They are generously allowing us (ok...forcing us) to purchase everything else. They have broken it down into Departments and have told us what to buy from their store. Each Department has been given not only an item to buy but instructed that we have to buy enough for the entire store.

as the email states EVERYONE WILL PARTICIPATE!

I know most of you think that a store who throws away hundreds of dollars of food a day and pays their employees minimum wage should be able to pay for one meal for all of the hard work we do every year.

Please contact them and tell them that this is unacceptable. If we have to Pay for our own party I am sure most of us would rather just buy dinner for our own family.
