I got a v-mail message from Mike Benoit that we were cousins and the he lived about 25 miles from me. That my deceased grandmother was his aunt and his other aunt left her 6,000 dollars. He and his attorney had looked for me because my name was listed on the Pennsylvania unclaimed funds website. He knew my brothers name, my uncles name, how my father died (which was an unusual death). He knew a lot about my family. He said he would send me a pdf form from his attorney with instructions on how to proceed. I did make the mistake of giving him my email address. BUT at the end of the conversation I said I have to tell you I was afraid this was a scam. I thought for sure you'd ask for my bank account info or my social security number. We both laughed. I never got a letter and was never contacted again. He knew I knew. Honestly at first he was very believeable. He was American, no accent. I could tell he was Caucasian. It didn't set off a red flag that he may be from Nigeria or Ughanda. I also checked the PA unclaimed funds site. I'm not listed there nor is my brother. My brother has a coworker that was contacted the same way by another man. The guy truly believes he's getting $9,000 But he's not. It's a scam and they've gotten smarter. Americans are helping them. Beware!!

Mike Benoit is NOT a SCAMMER

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 13, 2017

It was all a misunderstanding.

I was contacted by two attorneys who through the communication proved to me that Mike Benoit’s initial contact with me was not of a fraudulent nature or to mislead me.  In fact his call to me was of a helping nature and purely innocent on his part.  I placed this listing because I didn't know who he was and could not find any information on him to confirm what he was telling me.  In this day and age I had to protect myself, my family and anyone who may be a victim of a potential scammer.

In fact Mike Benoit was trying to do a good thing but went about it in a bad way.  Since Mike had my phone number he should have had his attorney contact me and not a phone message from him left on my answering machine late at night.  Just seemed odd to me and not on the up and up.

This is an official rebuttal of the scammer con listing that I had placed against Mike Benoit.  In fact I've been told by two of his attorney’s that he is an honest up standing business man who had nothing but goodness in his heart.  Thank you Mike Benoit for helping me and my brother.  I wish it was handled differently.
