In October 2007, I responded to an email for a home based business from Online Business Systems. I sent away for the information described and felt comfortable that I could get a refund of the $39.95 cost if I was not satisfied, which was stated in the ad. I sent away for the information and Molly Forsythe, my coach, was very diligent in sending me numerous email asking me yo contact her, which I did. We had a very nice conversation about the possibility of making money with this endeavor. After considerable research on my end, I decided it was not an opportunity for me. In Nov 2007, I contacted Molly for instructions on returning the information for my refund. She provided her address and when I didn't hear back, I asked when I could expect my refund. She said in her email it would take 30 days. I waited and waited and when my emails to that fact went unanswered, I contacted my bank for a reversal of the charges. I guess that is how they make their money by not refunding the money.

The whole thing sounds like a scam.

Is Herbal Life a scam? In my opinion it is. I remember going to an Herbal Life meeting years ago and the rep running the meeting, asking me have I ever heard of Herbal Life? I replied, "Yes I have." The rep then said how? I replied, "on a news program called 20/20, it was an investigative report." The rep got real bent out of shape trying to explain they have corrected a lot of their problems, etc. Then the meeting started and all the hype, how the guy that started it was inspired by his mothers poor health (you know they all have a story, as they say fact tell, stories sell), how I can make this and that amount of money. They passed cheques around showing the money people were making. It was a real motivational meeting. Then towards the end of the meeting (the conversion/ alter call) the rep asked, "Do any of you want to give this a chance and start with this kit. I believe at the time it was either $250.00 or $500.00, I responded by getting up and walking right out of the meeting.

The rep that asked me to attend kept phoning me afterwards, for the next few days, I had to finally get rude and tell them not to call me anymore. They asked why? I told the rep that I have done my own research on Herbal Life and don't believe it is an opportunity I want to pursue. I also got the rep to admit it was a multi-level-marketing company. Of course the rep kept encouraging me to front load a bunch of product and I can make all this money re-selling it. Ya, Like I want my garage full of $5,000.00 worth of a bunch of Herbal Life pills.

Please one word of advice for all you people out there thinking of getting into a pyramid. Pyramids are self defeating. I am not saying Herbal Life is a pyramid, I will leave that up to you to decide. I believe they like to call it Multi-Level-Marketing.

I stay as far away from Herbal Life, Amway (quixtar), and the rest of them. I try to keep my money in my wallet. The time and energy you will spend promoting someones stuff, you can run your own business. I remember one company I was pitched for had water filters you could hook up to your kitchen tap. They wanted $350.00 wholesale and I sell it for $600.00. Called around and found out I could buy the whole thing from the supplier for $60.00 each. Just didn't have the companies logo on it.

MLM has a lot of mark up on products and love for you to purchase promotional materials. If it works for some people I am happy for them. I don't agree though with pretending like people are your friends to just recruit them.

Hey, I can sit at home and loose money.

Molly Forsythe, Online Business, TheOnline Business, Herbalife: Please refund Shirley her d**n money you ripoff artist. She changed her mind, guess what? Rejection is a part of life, and part of business. You owe Shirley her money back.

Shirley, if they don't refund your money I want you to contact your local Attorney Generals Office for your state and submit a compliant to them, that you are suspicious that Molly may have committed fraud. Leave it up to them to decide if she did or not. I would also contact the Federal Trade Commission and let them know as well, they will send you a complaint form to fill out. Fill it out and send it in.

I would also contact the fraud squad with your local law enforcement and file a complaint with them. If they tell you they can't do anything, ask for the fax number to the station, and send in a complaint any way. They may feel compelled to look into it for you.

Phone Herbal Life Corporate Office and tell them what Molly did, and that you question her conduct and ethics as a representative, and you want your d**n MONEY BACK. Tell HERBAL LIFE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF!!!!

I would also write Molly a demand letter and give her 10 days to refund your money or you will be taking legal action against her, and requesting all and any fees you encounter in the process. Go to the court house and sue Molly!!

Fax and email MOLLY every day till she refunds your money. Keep copies of all your papers, emails, faxes. Keep copies of all correspondence with Molly. Keep notes, dates, times, who you talked to, the phone number.

Remember too I am not an attorney, I make no warranties or representations for any information I provide to you. To know your rights legally it is always your choice and wise option to seek independent legal advice from an attorney.

I think if it were me, I would be wondering how many other people has Molly possibly ripped off doing the same thing she did to you?

I am also thinking contact your local news media (t.V. Newspapers, etc), it may bring more victims out of the wood work.

I'm a distributor - Refund doesn't come from Herbalife

AUTHOR: T Pugh - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 19, 2008

To clarify: Herbalife doesn't send out nor does it refund monies on training packs. These packs come from the independent distributor via a distribution center. The distributor doesn't make a profit either. When you say "yes" to a training pack, the distributor actually pays for it and then they collect the money from the prospect only if the prospect doesn't return the pack within a set period. No profit is made by the distributor; it's a wash. The problem here is that it sounds like a lazy distributor who couldn't be bothered. That's unfortunate because most of us operate on a higher level. If you followed the instructions and returned the training pack in a timely manner, you should have been refunded. The distributor would have received the pack and they then have the opportunity to personally hand the pack out to another prospect if they so desired.
