My roommate and I moved here to Montelano/Sands Point Apartments last October (2005) from Hamden, Ct. All paper work was done via internet. We found the apartments through an ad in Rent.com apartment guide book. We registered for the $100. reward for using rent.com.

We had chosen the 999 sq. ft. 2 BDRM 2 bath model. Upon arrivial and moving in my roommate and I soon discovered that the apt. wasn't the 999 sq. ft. model, but rather the smaller model and we were charged for the 999 model. After talking to the office manager (Ruthanne Sanders) the problem was corrected.

My roommmate and I did a walk through with the manager and the manager and she took notes as to the the minor repairs needed, such as replacing stove covers, replace broken blinds, door stops and broken closet door knobs. The minor repairs to 3 weeks to complete. Three weeks after moving in the ceiling in masterbedroom started leaking, they suposable fixed problem. One week later the ceiling began leaking again, they sposably fixed problem. One week later the ceiling began leaking again, this time the ceiling calapeses, it took a month for them to complete repairs. To this day the bathroom ceiling and walls the effects of water damage. We also complained about the noise from the apartment above us at all hours of the night with nothing been done about it.

Montelano/Sainds points advertises being a gated community and the gate on the north side of the complex hasn't worked since January of this year. In November of 2005 we were notified by Rent.com that Sands Points informed (Rent.com) that my roommate and I weren't living at Montelano/Sands Point therefor we weren't qualified for the $100. reward. When reported to office manager she said she would take care of the problem. We never did received the $100. reward.

On August 3rd 2006 a water pipe broke in the apartment that connects to ours. The apartment next door was completely flooded. The water came throught our apartment and flooded the closet in the 2nd bedroom. A carpet copany came out to dry the carpet but maintance never came to our apartment to secure the carpet to floor and the apartment still smells of wet carpet. Now we have developed a bug problem.

I remember Kevin

AUTHOR: Ruthanne Sanders - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 22, 2008

I do remember these fellows who moved into Sandspoint. I was only the manager there for a short time due to the sale of the property. As I recall there was a mix up in the layout of their apartment and a few minor maintenance items that were taken care of. As far as it taking three weeks that would surprize me, but I am sure Kevin would remember better than me. As far as the rent.com issue, I believe it wasn't listed on the application and the roommates name was listed differently on the form rent.com sent us. Didn't you get a credit of $100 Kevin, on your rent? I was sure we gave you a rental credit of $100, in the interest of customer service. I know we tried very hard to make you happy. Customer service is very important to me. At this point there is no way for me to check as we sold the property prior to April of 2006.

Well I have nothing bad to say about Kevin, he was very nice. I just saw my name on the listing and thought I would comment. I have been in property management for thirty years, and hard as I try, there are times when you fall short of fullfilling your customer's expectations.
