Movecorp UK Conned by a rouge shipping company Aldridge, Nationwide

We have just had a really awful experience with a shipping company called Movecorp in the UK.

We did not look for reviews or feedback and that is to our detriment.

Initially Movecorp gave the cheapest cost for shipping compared to all the other companies we contacted. Ourselves and another party we know used the same people, and I have since seen reviews online by other people being caught out by them in the same way.

One they have picked up your items, they then say that your volume is MUCH greater and then charge you a lot more money. We had told them that the volume was greater than we initially thought, but could not see it being as much as they said. They said they would not comment on extra cost until they had our items in their warehouse. We have been charged THREE times the original quote. For a previous move with apparently the same volume it cost a third less with a different company. And then they said that if we did not pay immediately, our items would be put into storage incurring more costs. Then we only discovered today that after they have had our shipment for 8 weeks - it had not even left England. When we queried this, they said it was in transit. We since discovered that they were obviously lying. However they are very careful about how they wrote emails so they know the loopholes - think tricky politicians.

SO now we in another country with three small children - without any of our shipment. We planned to stay in short term furnished accomodation for 8 weeks waiting our shipment, and even now we are not certain if it has left the country or if they still have it in England.

Please avoid the heartbreak and stress and do your research! If you have also used MOvecorp and had a bad experience, please report it like us so that we might have some say in getting some money back or financial assistance for costs now tio be incurred.
