Muffler Man Don't stand behind work Ripoff Portage Michigan

I do not work for Muffler Man. In fact, I am a competitor of theirs. I stated the only thing any company will warranty for more than a year is the muffler. Now, you have admitted that was what was actually warranteed. Apparently, I do have the facts. As for sticking up for them, no. Just because I make a factual statement about how this business operates, does not intone that I am "sticking up for them".

Am I sticking up for them because I know what grades of pipe are used and how long they each last? I'll bet your neighbor had his done with 14 gauge pipe. You'll notice I said it would last twice as long.

I will bet that in reality, they agreed to warranty the muffler(only) and charge you again for everything else. If you have something different than this in writing, why not make them do it. If you have all your ducks in line, you can force the issue and they'll lose in court.

If they know they'll lose in court, they'll take tyhe cheaper way out and redo the system. Amazing. Some people just have no clue when someone offers a knowledgable bit of advice. You remind me of a guy my buddy knows.

He asks questions and when you tell him an answer he doesn't want to hear, he goes off on a tangent. That's why he gets robbed and I don't.

The muffler was garanteed........... They just don't wanna redo the work.

The only part any shop will put a lifetime warranty on would be the muffler itself, and only if it is a stock replacement part for your particular vehicle. You live in the great salt spreader of all time. Anywhere north of NC is bad for exhaust systems as most states use salt to clear the roads in the winter. The pipes are good for just about 2 years if they use 18 gauge and 4 years if they use 14 gauge. I'll guess they used the 18 gauge prebent crap on your vehicle. If the shop that redid the work used the thin pipe, be ready to replace it again. If they did not put the warranty in writing, your back to square one also.
