4 weeks ago, my girlfriend and I were in the process of moving from our current apartment in Los Angeles and decided to move to the Museum Terrace apartments.
As such, we paid $88 for two credit score checks, gave them a $200 security deposit, got $25/month renters insurance, scheduled movers, changed our address, got DWP, scheduled TWC, gave notice to our current building, you name it. In addition, we decided to go with Museum Terrace over another apartment, which is now no longer available.
Yesterday, about 8 days before we were supposed to move in, we are informed that the unit is no longer available. They are willing to give us our $200 deposit back, but won't give us the $88 for credit checks or the $25 we spent on renter's insurance.
They also have another unit available but it's $400 more per month, and they are not willing to give us any price break on that unit even though they totally screwed us.
DO NOT MOVE INTO THE MUSEUM TERRACE APARTMENTS, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND THEY DONT GIVE A S*** ABOUT YOU.
