I have rented from this woman for several years. Now, you need to know this:  over the course of my contract they have locked me out of my unit before.  I paid four months in advance and in month two they locked me out!!  This has happened twice now.  Apparently, they have an incompetent accountant who does not know how to handle prepaid rent.  It cost me money in sales, it cost my son money for a trip from the cities and much more.  But I let this pass because I had personal issues to attend to that needed immediate attention.

Stay away from this horrible business.  And here is why.

Recently (July 2016) I added two more storage units and sent in the contract along with a check to pay through the end of September after having talked to Sharyn and she told me the amount to pay.  The next invoice was for $170 for the month of October.  I always pay 2-4 months in advance so I doubled that invoice and sent it in to cover October and November 2016.  On November 12th I tried to access my unit and it was locked!  I called Sharyn and she told me that I hadn't paid my bill.  I told her that I most certainly had paid and that I paid in advance!!  She told me to call the office which I did and was informed that I was late on my October payment.  I was late by 3 days.  So they assessed me a fee of $20.  The problem is that this was the first time I had heard of it.  I had paid for the entire month of November!!  So why not apply my late fee to that!!  I still would have had paid time available. They should have sent another invoice to show that.  Instead, I got an invoice dated November 15th and they not only added a late fee for October, they added one for November!! 

They don’t send invoices on a regular basis.  Only when it fits their agenda.  In December, I submitted the December payment along with that $20 late fee.  Then she sends me a copy of the envelope from my October payment and note written from her.  This was apparently my December invoice.  She also charged me late fees for December.  In my contract it states at I have until the 7th of the month and then a late fee will be assessed.  It is a PO Box in Eau Claire.  I actually walked my payment into the post office, recorded it on my phone using video, and asked the postal worker how long it takes for my payment to get to the PO Box.  She said and I quote “2 minutes tops” as long as it takes me to walk over there”. 

The next time I received an invoice was February and Sharyn assessed me a late fee again for December and January!!  I paid at the post office on January 3rd (it was closed December 31, January 1 and January 2nd).  I recorded that too.  I did the same on February 3rd and she told me via email that I didn’t pay her until the 6th of February.  When I sent my payment in for March I let her know that I busted her flat out in her lies.  She actually documented those lies via email and now my attorney has all that information.  I am suing her for all the months she has kept my unit locked, for the Christmas gifts that my family never received, for the damage being done to family heirlooms and photos that I had temporarily taken down there (it’s only a few blocks away from my home) to store while I was redecorating.  They are most certainly damaged from the dew and moisture resulting from temperature changes and freezing.  These cannot be replaced.  After I made my December payment I went to my unit on December 23rd to pick up all the Christmas gifts I had kept hidden from my grandchildren and my unit was still locked!!!  I called and left her a message stating I was there to get my gifts and I never heard a word. 

This place is a scam.  They ruined Christmas for my grandchildren who are all under the age of 4 years.  That was the most difficult to handle.  Keep in mind that I had rented from her for years, always making advanced payments.  I was an outstanding renter.  And this is how she repays good customers.  Stay away from ALL THREE OF HER BUSINESSES!!C
