I don't even know where to begin when writing this complaint about National Floors Direct. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had working with a company. We were supposed to get a wood floor in our living room, hallway and a carpet on our stairs. But we recieved so much more than that. To begin with when we first met with the sales man we were sold and agreed upon a standard grade quality of wood from them called gunstock. We were never told that this wood could have nicks, gashes, scraps or discoloring. But instead was promised and shown a nick and scratch free piece of wood that was perfectly colored. But the wood that came to our house and was installed was completely opposite of what we bought. There were nicks, scratches, huge gashes and even rotted backs to the wood planks.

Besides this the person that showed up to do our floors showed up ten hours late. We were told three different times when we called National Floors that they were on their way to our house, and after ten hours this story got very old to us. So finally they showed up and not to even work but instead to just drop the product off. On top of that the two people who came to do our floors were complete immigrants who were unprofessional and unable to speak and understand clear english.

As part of our agreement sighned with the sales rep was for them to remove and replace our baseboard. But instead the installer cut our baseboard while still on the wall and completely ruined every piece of molding that he cut. He left the floor a mess with huge gaps that he tried to fill with colored silicon. Horrible molding that was cut all jagged with huge gaps from the floor to the molding. In wich he tried to fill with white silicon that bled into every piece of wood and completely ruined it. On top of all this he broke a piece of tile in our bathroom and the doorframe. Also he left all our rooms with no transition pieces from wood to carpet. Our house was also filled with so much dust from the wood cutting because they cut the wood directly outside our door and cut it while the door was open for all the dust to just cloud in our house.After all that the quality of the wood was still rediculously horrible with gaps, nicks, scratches in almost every piece of wood. After all that we cancelled the carpet because we did not want anymore work done from them. So when the installer left he made us fill out a packet in wich he stood over our shoulder and told us exactly what to write instead of letting us fill out the packet for ouselves. Because he knew that what we wrote reflected upon how he got paid. So it was very uncomfortable and very unprofessional.

So, we complained and we were pushed around for months. Every time we called to talk to a head person we were always told they were busy and that they would ake a message and call us back. So you could imagine that this would get very sickening after awhile. So after three months of being dicked around we got fet up and started calling almost every day. Until finally we told them that we were going to call the District Attorney on them and then we finally recieved a call back. And it wasn't even from the head person we were trying to call but instead another wood floor installer that worked for them. SO he told us that he would come and take a look at the floor. So he came looked at it and he told us how he couldn't even believe that quality of the floor and how it came out. So we never heard anything for a couple more weeks like we were promised that we would hear from them again. So again we kept the pressure on and then again a different floor installer called us and said he has to now come and see it. So he came looked at it and was in awe bout the floor and all the destruction. So he informed us that he was going to fix the floor and that they would replace the molding for us at no charged because they were at fault. So again we were never contacted by the head guy even though he was supposed to be dealing with our complaint and we were never offered any compensation for the stress of dealing with the butchered and ruined floors for three months. Or the fact that we didn't get the job done next day like they promised and just the simple fact that we were jerked around for three long mths and we had to live with our living room with no furniture in it because of the floors.

So they did our floors over with better wood and replace all our molding. We were still left with a broken tile and door frame but at least we finally had a floor that we payed alot of money to have. So we had cancelled the carpet witch originally they were going to charge us 400 dollars to install a carpet on our two flights of stairs. They still to this day refuse to give us our money back for the the carpet and refuse to call or talk to us about it. They are trying to say because the wood floor and carpet were priced together that they can't give us the $400 back to us because it can't be proven. So we told them to talk to the sales man but they claim they can't because he got fired. And today they came back saying we got a $250 coupon for the floor off and that's what the carpet was worth. witch is completely bogus because they have never once came to look at our stairs and how many there are except when the sales person was at our hosue and priced it. I have had it with this company. they think because they are so big that they can jerk people around and take advantage of them. They are poorly managed and I can see how they have become so big by scamming and taken advantage of the little people. We were given no compenstaion for all our inconveniences and for the mths of stress and for our house being in complete distress for the whole three months. On top of all that they robbed us for the carpet that we never recieved. I wish this company nothing but the worst and I would not recommend them to anynone. they don't care about their work, product, employees, or customers. DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND AT THE END OF IT YOU'RE UNHAPPY AND THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY.
