I contacted National Moving Systems on June 5th of this year.  After speaking to Jay Mitchell, who at the time, sounded very professional.  I checked the BBB and they had nothing on this company and thus gave them an A rating.  However, what Jay does not tell you is that they are not accredited by the BBB.  I was given the usual marketing chatter about how wonderful they were and how they used only their trucks.  I was interested in this company because they indicated they would "store" the items for free for a month.  So, signed up with them and paid the down payment.  I had told Jay that delivery would be an issue as the furniture being moved from Colorado to California to my sons house, and they travel a great deal.  He asked what delivery date we wanted and I informed him July 13....and asked if there was a window...as there is in the pick-up.  I was informed there was a 3 day window.  That was fine as long as it was delivered in that window.  The pick-up was a mess.  3 men showed up, 2 of which did not speak much English...the other did speak English...but not well.  They were suppose to arrive on June 20 between 12-2.  They arrived almost 2 hours late.  They showed up in what I am guessing was a rented truck.  They did work hard to wrap all the furniture and get it in the truck but there was a couch in one room that just barely made it in the room.  Instead of taking the door off the room, they wrapped the couch which made it even thicker and forced it thru the doorway destroying the door.  I had to buy a new door.  The man wanted me to sign paperwork that was not filled in...refused to do so until it was filled in.  When he was done he explained that the furniture would be delivered in up to 14 business days.  That was not correct, so I got on the phone to Jay and said this stuff had to be delivered between July 13-15 or it had to be stored.  He indicated he would notify dispatch.  This was July 1.  At that point we had no idea there was going to be any delay.  When they did not show up on the 13th and we had not received a call, we called them and were informed the delivery was now July 18-24th...but no one would be home, so we had to cancel.  That cost us another $796 dollars.  Angry there was nothing we could do and agreed.  Then the furniture was supposed to be delivered July 26...a Sunday.  OK, we could deal with that.  On Saturday, they called and cancelled.  When we couldn't meet their delivery date, we had to pay an extra fee, but apparently they can cancel without any consequences.  We do not yet have an agreed to delivery date...and we do not have the furniture.
