The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Earl Rahn, Phil Stone, and Amy Rahn during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward NewSouth Window Solutions.

NewSouth Window Solutions is a truly unique window manufacturing and installation company located in south Florida. President and Cofounder Earl Rahn, explained the business model for his company, "unlike any window manufacturer to my knowledge...we are truly truly factory direct. We manufacture, we install, we guarantee. We go out of our way to make it easy. We eliminate the middle man.”

Leads for NewSouth Window Solutions are acquire through several different venues which include: radio, television, newspaper, billboards, open houses, home shows, direct mail, and the internet. They are showcased in major newspapers, and have been featured in several magazines, "we believe in marketing, advertising, and branding our name so the consumer knows they really do have an option." Because all the leads are inbound Phil Stone, the Affiliate President expressed that their clients approach them for services, "we're never in a position where we are badgering people, we don't do unsolicited knocks on their door, we don't ring their telephone none of that. We don't believe in operating that way." Mr. Rahn went on to explain the sales process for NewSouth Window Solutions. During the onsite interview, the staff at NewSouth Window Solutions was asked to describe a situation where a client was not satisfied with the level of service they received. Mr. Rahn explained that working in the construction business issues can occur with the product. He illustrated a incident where a window was cracked during transportation. If an issue like this arises, "we have our full service department. We will install everything to the best of our ability, and we will go ahead and manufacture any pieces that need to be replaced. So the customer will get exactly what they expect each an every time." Mr. stone went on to explain that not only do they produce quality products, but the customer is there number one concern throughout their professional relationship, "at NewSouth the customer is king. There is accountability in every aspect so nothing falls through the cracks.”



When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website the staff explained that there were two false reports posted on the site. The first was a comment made from a customer who owed the company money for services performed on her home. She did not pay the billed amount, and the issue escalated to court. The issue has been resolved. The second report was made by an aggressive competitor in the Florida area. The comments made by the competitor stated that the products made by NewSouth Window Solutions were not up to code. These comments are indeed false as Amy Rahn explains, "every single one of our products goes through a rigorous testing with the state of Florida. Each one of our products has a Florida product approval number. We meet and exceed the criteria for energy star, which is now code in the majority of the sate of Florida.”

Ripoff Report would like to let readers know that Ripoff Report emailed this customer so the member business could make things right with them. STATEMENT FROM NEWSOUTH WINDOW SOLUTIONS:

This report was filed by a customer shortly after she lost to us in court. After her installation was complete, the finance account that we had established for her, for payment of our services was closed. After the installation, there were some minor issues on her job that needed fixing, but she denied us access to her home to complete our work. There were many antics to try to scare us, so that she would not have to pay us for the windows we installed into her home. Bottom line- we took her to court, she lost, and this post is her attempt to get revenge.

Let me tell you how NewSouth Window provided defective product, misused a notrary, and provided sub-par product and customer service, bit still got a court ruling to foreclose on my house! (spoiler: it's sneaky)

I'm a disabled/retired vet, so it meant a lot that I can have my own home! I really wanted energy efficient windows and doors, so I signed NewSouth Window to provide me with 2 french doors and 14 windows in early 2012. I used their recommended loan program. 

After some issues with their salesman, I thought Garrett Jones had taken care of all wrong doings and they delivered the product to my home in May. Upon arrival, the doors which I ordered (3/4 french doors with a cat door) where actually 1/2 french doors with a people sized dog door. They insisted it was the correct door and after a few "debates" over a few days they agreed to return the door. However, they did not measure a couple of my windows correctly and would have to come back to install those at a later day. (I have pictures of the door if anyone wants to see them)

Fastforward 2 weeks later: all windows installed, but now I have damage to my drywall and stucco. They try to bill me via loan, but it's been canclled (unknown to me): I never even got any confirmation for the loan anyways. For some reason they decide I cancelled it on purpose to get free windows and Garrett Joes says a few choice words to me and threaten to take my house as payment. 

It was crazy to me. I've got a good credit score, I've never been in trouble with the law, I'm a NICE person. Heck, I've only had one traffic ticket in my life! Why would he automatically assume that I'm trying to cheat him? It was very hurtful. My integrity is very important to me.

I looked through my loan paperwork and found a Notice of Commencement which is signed by a notary. However, I NEVER signed anything with a notary for NewSouth Windows. I even have her sworn affidavit that she never has met me and signs documents without meeting people all the time. NONE of the print on this document is my handwriting. I called the police, the BBB, and the Attorney General to look into this. The signature is similar to mine, so no one will say that it's forged for sure, but I do know 100% that I never signed this document in the presence of a notary. And apparently this document has something to do with the ability for them to put a lien on my house! But nothing was done to correct this document by anyone even though I was trying so hard to get it right. 

A week and half after they install the windows, they put a lien on my house, but I don't even know it because I'm never notified. I found it months later when I looked on my record when they threaten to take my house again. 

Over the course of the last 2 years, Garrett Jones, Dan Oschtein, and/or Earl Rahn have threatened me, had people come to my home and trespass onto my property, insult me, attempt to bully me, and they refused every offer I made to pay them for the products at a reduced price. They said they will never take "a penny less" that the full sum regardless of anything that they have provided or done. I have proof of their behavior on voicemail and email so I can prove it too! 

They filed with the courts to take my home in late 2012, but I filed a countersuit and they disappeared for a year. But then... a year later, they file for a court date without telling me or my lawyer, go to court and win because we were not there. They won almost double the value of the windows and got the right to foreclose on my house if I didn't pay. When were we notified of the judgement? Days before the foreclosure. And this is apparently legal!! 

I had to pay them 12,278.19 for about 6,500 worth of actual product to keep my home. I still have a defective window, a couple other windows are problematic, I was never repaid for the damage to my home, and I stil have an improperly signed document. I have been screwed and I am not going to shut up about it!  

I want everyone to know what can happen when you do business with NewSouth Window!

I offered to pay for products that were not damaged, but I asked to be compensated for any other expenses which were caused by NewSouth Window and the corrective action of the document which I did not sign in the presence of the notary. They refused saying that they would not accept "a penny less" and insisted that the notary signing the document without meeting me was completely lawful and therefore valid.

I do not think I "stiffed" them and I nevered intended not to pay. The put a lien on my house in just over a week!!! I wanted the products and services I was promised OR I would pay for the products and services I received.

    According to your own report, you stiffed them in 2012.   Whether or not the loan goes through, you're still obligated to pay for goods and services which you receive.   If you're not happy with some aspects of the work, that doesn't mean you can just blow off payment.     While I believe that some shadiness occured in trying to collect payment, it appears that you set this whole thing in motion by not paying them when they originally installed your doors and windows.   

  BTW, if they obtained a default judgement without proper service of either you or your lawyer and your lawyer thinks there is nothing that can be done about it, you should find a new lawyer.
