The person who scammed me is Derrick Norris (also goes by Dee and appears on Facebook as Boston Norris). I came across him in a Facebook group specifically for networking with people hosting events in the Atlanta area and in need of vendors to rent booths at their events.

I'm a small business owner and decided to take a chance at expanding my business at expos, so after going back and forth in email with Derrick I decided to rent out a booth. The weird part is that initially he kept giving me pricing regards party buses and limos, then he finally caught on that I was contacting him regards his "womens expo" that he essentially never had in mind to go through with.

I passed it off has a common mistake given he may had been messaging a few people at the same time and gotten the two mixed up. He later apologized for the mix up and admitted to also being in business with renting out party buses and limos.

Long story short, I paid hundreds of dollars not only for the vendor booth, but also another segment for the event that he pressed for me to do and I actually met up with him at the supposed event location to pay the second portion in person.

Fast forward to the day before the supposed event, he messages me saying that some flooding or power outage happened at the location and the event had to be cancelled. He claimed that the owners of the facility were allowing to postpone it to a new date in December. It really didn't seem right, so I just opted to get a full refund instead which was previously assured would be done should something come up.

I agreed to meet up with him at the event location AGAIN to get my refund which is about an hour or more away especially during rush hour in the Atlanta area. Got there and waited hours texting and speaking with him briefly during that time as he assured me he was coming from hours away from an event.

He did not show and had the audacity to offer to meet up with me somewhere else the next as if I was going to continue with the run around when based on his nonchalant tone it became obvious he had no intention of giving the money back.

At the conclusion, he tried apologizing on deaf ears and I last messaged him stating that if he truly was sorry and had any ounce of honesty and integrity as a business owner he could mail me my refund in money order form to my PO Box. Never received it.

So, if you value only doing business with people who work from a place of honesty and integrity, DO NOT bother doing business with Derrick Norris of Norris Expos, LLC, Sokolimos.com, Soko Marketing, PlacestobeAtlanta OR PlacestobeBoston (He's originally from Boston).

He gives the impression of a "stand up guy", but anything but that as he targets women to rip off. What a coward.
