I brought my wife to this hospital for right shoulder blade pain due to an accident that took place on 11-24-04, 9:15am. My wife said that she didn't need ambulance service at scene of accident. When 5:15pm on same day came, my wife said that she couldn't handle the pain any more, so i brought her to this hospital for treatment.

The hospital crew made her and i wait from 5:30pm to 7:37pm and they had other people that were below her name on the list going in first while my wife is in pain. The hospital nurse in Er acted like it was funny that i brought her in for emergency treatment. They left my wife sitting in pain while other people kept on going in for other treatment.

My wife and i finally left at 7:37pm from hospital and i went to the store for painkillers for my wife. The painkillers only helped to a small point. I'll have to bring to the family doctor for treatment.

PEEP THIS

AUTHOR: Stick - (U.S.A.)

If this is true...what the heck is going on with our government.

I have seen many things in my life, but this, if true, takes the prize. How would you like to live on 1000.00 dollars a month and have that threatened to be taken away by "illegal" immigrants. Just by making it across the border and applying for Social Security, they get paid to break the law. How ridiculous is this.

Something needs to be done to protect the working people of the United States, that have worked and paid into "this retirement". It is not much to live on, but it puts meat and potatoes on the dinner plates of some that would have nothing...and it is threatened to be taken away by a law breaker.

I know that many of the postal offices in border towns to Mexico have grown in size to handle the illegal immigrants taking our money. This should have been stopped years ago. What kind of a red flag is needed in Washington to put a stop to this form of stealing. They are stealing from the Americans and nobody is doing anything about it.
If you agree with my posting, send this Rip Off Report to President Bush NOW!

President@WhiteHouse.gov

9 hospitals in sourthern California had to close their ER departments because MANY illegal immigrants flooded the ERs for colds, give births and many other problems and the TAX PAYERS had to help pick up the tab.

Will your local hospital's ER Department be next on the chopping BLOCK?

Many that live in Mexico go to San Luis AZ and go to their LEGAL USA Post Office and get their welfare check. FREE Money and tax payer's expence. Much more money then if they worked all month in Mexico.

San Luis AZ has one of the biggest Post offices in the state of AZ. It is one of the smallest towns in AZ. Why to they have so many PO box's in such a small town on the borader?

Wake UP America you are being Ripped OFF! And your goverment is DOING NOTHING!

Is our goverment so DUMB that they have no ability to stop ths GREAT RIP OFF? If so we as a nation are in BIG TROUBLE.

Shoulder pain is not a life threatening injury. I am sure you and your wife were scared after the accident, but, there are a lot of instances that would take priority over shoulder pain. Breathing difficulty? Chest pain? Unconscious? Diabetic emergency? Patients ARE triaged according to complaint/signs/symptoms.

The Emergency Dept. is just that, for emergencies.

Once again, I am sure that she was afraid because of the pain. I commend you for taking her there yourself, because, believe it or not, it would not have mattered if an ambulance brought her in. That would not have changed the time you had to wait.

I am a state certified EMT, and have had to wait in the ER for over 5 hours. I understand there were people that needed to be seen before me, even if they came in after me. I usually try to see my family doctor first, I would only go(to the ER) if I think it's a true emergency.

I think it's wonderful that you were there for your wife. Support can be a wonderful thing. Please keep being there for her.

Welcome To The Real World

Some people just don't have a clue. I suspect we'll be hearing from a number of ER people on this one. My wife's son got creamed in an auto accident. Taken by EMS to the local ER. He waited in the ER for over 8 hours to be seen.

My granddaughter OD'd. She waited 9.5 hours to been seen. After 9.5 hours, the drug was out of her system. The waits here can be 12 to 14 hours AND LONGER. OH MY LORD, You waited a WHOLE 2 hours and 7 minutes. Got tired of waiting and left. The emergency room situation is a mess in this country.

Here in SA, a good portion of the patients waiting are illegals waiting for free medical care. BY LAW, the hospital isn't allowed to ask them if they are citizens. Bexar county tax payers only, pay for the hospital YET patients from 200 miles away, use the hospital. From Laredo to Waco they come. They stub a toe. They catch a cold. They're in the ER to be seen. And you wonder WHY there are long waits.

Years ago I got picked up by EMS. They sent me a bill for $250. I asked them why it was $250, when the private companies were charging $50 to $60. They said only one out of five paid for it, so they let the one paying, pay for the other four.

Some moron kid hit me a few years ago. He was racing someone else. When they pried him out of the car, the speedo was cracked at 96 MPH. He lost both legs. They took him to the ER. His medical bill were over $1,000,000. He didn't have insurance. Us taxpayers picked up the bill. He survived. He'll probably be on SSI for the rest of his life.

2 Hours Not Long

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 10, 2006

Two hours is not an excessively long time to wait in an Emergency Room nor is it unusual for people who arrived after you to be taken first. Hospital ER's use a triage system which dictates that they take in some people before others. Someone who was bleeding, couldn't breathe or having chest pains would definitely be taken in before someone whose only symptom was shoulder pain. If you thought others were receiving treatment before your wife and should not have, you could have always spoken to the triage nurse.

Also, was an ambulance called to the scene of the accident? If so, it is not a good idea to refuse treatment. It makes it much harder when you try to file an injury claim with your insurance company.

A better Hospital

AUTHOR: Anita - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 09, 2006

I too went to Northwest medical ER for treatment for an allergic reaction. When I walked in at 10:30 pm I told the triage nurse what was wrong & was put in the waiting room at 11:00. I couldn't breath well, & had itching hives all over my body, my eyes were swollen almost shut & i was shaking uncontrollably.

I finally gave up at 4:45 AM & went home. The next time I had an emergency I went to St Mary's in Rogers. After registering I sat in the waiting room no more than 5 minutes before seeing a triage nurse & after her, she took me STRAIGHT back to the rooms. I was in there no more then an hour. Next time, go to ST.MARY'S
