I was approached by a door-to-door salesman (I thought they stopped this in the 50's?), and he was a very good salesman. He described the water, the system, and the company in full, elaborate detail.

He did, however, seem to be in quite a rush; he informed me that his supervisor was waiting in the truck downstairs. I realized this, quickly spoke to my roomates (3 of them), and agreed to have the water delivered.

I must admit, its great water. That little ppm tool he has really showed the purity of the water he was peddling. When it came down to signing the papers, I asked him questions. He informed me that I was under no obligation, and that I could cancel at any time. At will, I could call them and cancel my susbscription.

These details were important to me, because I knew I would be moving out fairly soon. Again, I restated my concern to him about being able to cancel at any time; he reassured me without stutter or stammer. A very good salesman.

Then, the issue of the cooler arose. I asked him what type of coolers they offer, and he informed me of a few. First, the basic cooler. Next, the Stainless-Steel cooler. Finally, and the one I wanted the most, the cooler with the built-in refridgerator.

I chose the refrigerated cooler, and that is what I got. Or is it? When he brought the cooler up, plugged it in, and started going over it's "features," problems showed themselves. The most obvious was that the door to the refridgerator didn't open! It wasn't just jammed; it was totally sealed shut!

He showed me that the cold water still worked; since that was the most important part, I said, "O.K." He explained to me that the coolers they offer is backed by an unconditional lifetime warranty, and that I should call the main office in the morning (he knocked on our door at about 7 PM [or later]).

That's fine. I called them the next day, and just as promised, they brought me a new cooler. When I got the new cooler, I was happy to find that the refridgerator was there and it worked fine! Well, almost. This time, the Hot Water tap didn't work. I'm not into hot water too much here in Arizona, so I dealt with it.

A few months later, I moved out of that residence. So, I called O Premium to cancel my subscription. They would do no such thing, and the woman that spoke with me initially was rude and uncaring. As any offended person would do in such a situation, I asked to speak with a manager. She transfered me, and I got Melissa's voicemail. I left a message, and waited around my house for a few hours before deciding that perhaps she was very busy.

I also decided that I was going to wait for my cooler to be paid off (the salesman informed me that I was, "renting-to-own" the cooler," and that it was mine to keep). It was a very cool little fridge', and I kept it next to my desk with sodas inside. I was very much attached to it.

I wasn't going to let this spoil my day, so I went hiking with my girlfriend. Later on the mountain we were scaling, Melissa called me back. Melissa informed me there they carried no month-to-month plan, and that I had inadvertantly and under some deciet by thier representitive, the door-to-door salesman, I had signed over 3 years of my life to them. She yelled, she argued, she coerced me into forfieting the conversation to her and her contract. I asked her if she could PLEASE send me the contract with my next delivery.

Needless to say, she would do no such thing. Whatever is she hiding, I wonder? They won't even give thier last names. I found this out when I recently filed a report with the AZ BBB. I work in customer service for a rural cable internet company, and our policy is to give our last names when we are representing the company. Its only good practice, and it instills trust in our clients. If the president of the company will happily give out his last name to complete strangers on the internet, why wouldn't his representatives give it to people giving him money??

To add insult to injury, she informed me that she was going to have someone pick up my cooler, and give me a new one. I thought, "Hey, at least I'm getting a working cooler now!" Well, when the delivery guy came, he picked up my broken cooler, and left me a stainless steel cooler with no refridgerator. :@ Not only did this thing not have a refridgerator, it only had 2 taps: Hot and Cold. My other cooler had a refridgerator, and 3 taps; Hot, Room Temperature, and Cold.

Room temperature is important to anyone living in Arizona. Because someone dehydrated shouldn't drink cold water. They should drink room temperature water, so that your body doesn't take a shock to it. Now, I have to mix the hot and cold water. This sucks.

Anyways. This month they charged my card (a bank debit check-card), and overdrafted me. Hey, I'm a 22-year old dude trying to go to school and live on my own. $40 is alot of money- that's food. So, I had no choice but to cancel my card, and file yet another dispute with my bank. Bank of America is an awesome bank, and I'm sure they will help; they have before :)

So today, I called O Prem, and I tried to resolve this issue. Again, and by 2 different reps, they yelled at me, and strongly told me how much they were unwilling to bend. O Premium must be desperate! I guess they feel that, since I'm "locked" into thier 'contract', they don't have to have high customer service paradigms. There's really nothing else I can do from this point. I will inform my bank not to let them have any more of my money, and they will send me to collections. As a college student, I've worked for collections agencies, and I know how they operate. O Prem will sell my suit to them, and they will make thier attempts to collect from me. I'll tell you this, O Premium, I'd rather pay the agency than pay you another dime!

Reading the contract won't help, they will change it; and not tell you they've done so. If you need water delivery, go somewhere else! Buyer beware! O Premium Water is not as clear as thier water! Great water, but I'd rather have great service! The way I see it, I'm paying for the service, and I get the water as a bonus. Oh, and if they say they are going to transfer you to Melissa, GET A LAWYER! RECORD THE CALL! She will tear you down; she's vicious!

P.S. I live in a house with 7 people, 4 dogs, 2 cats, 3 ferrets, 3 guinnea pigs, and 2 mice. 10 jugs a month is NOT all-I-Can-Drink! And before you say it, yes, I do consider them my family.

That is O Premium's MO... lie and deceive

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 01, 2004

This statement and all previous arguments against this sham of a company proves my point earlier.

Contact the State Attorney general's office and file your complaint to them, and they will investigate the matter.

Bottom line, folks: this water company needs to be shut down. The salesmen, supervisors, management, everybody -- all liars and con-artists who deceive the public into believing their bottled water service agreement is month-to-month and then DOCTOR's the agreement into a three-year contract. What kind of bottled water business is that?

If I was the owner of this company and if I ever found out about the aforementioned activities Kris mentioned, I'd fire em all.
