Oakwood Acceptance Corporation Payments mailed and they say they don't receive them.They threaten to forclose every month if payment is late. Greensboro North Carolina

I bought my home in March of 2001 and every since I have had it Oakwood has been calling me every month about the payments even before they are due. The raised my payments without even letting me know due to insurance. I have also called them and reported that my home was not set up correctly and the roof in my family room has a soft spot in it and water has run down the master bedroom walls. They said they couldn't do anything about it. But that is not true.

In December of 2003 my husband lost his job 9 days before Christmas and I had contacted them to let them know that I would be sending my payment but it would be late and they told me that I had to find other living arrangements.

They also called me on Christmas Eve and told me that if I had bought any gifts for my children I should take them back and get the money and send it to them. When I tried to explain to them that my children would not be having Christmas they called me a lier and said that if the payment wasn't made by the 26th they would come and get my home. They even caused me to have a nervous breakdown over the holidays and I have that on file with my Family Doctor. They just keep going and no one wants to do anything about them.

This month I mailed my payment on March 16, 2004 and here it is March 24, 2004 and they are saying that if the payment is not there by March 26, 2004 they are going to come and get my home.
Can they do this?
