Ocwen Financial Services Fraudulent, deceptive means to collect a resolved debt ripoff Orlando Florida

A representative from Ocwen left me a vague message on 8/8/07. I called back the 800 number. The representative was very suspicious. She did not want to tell me any information. She wanted me to give her my social security number, current address and last name as she had my maiden name, to veify if I was the correct person. I would not give it to her. She had my address from almost 20 years ago.

She claims I owe on a debt that was charged off in 1994, a mastercard. I check my reports every year and there is nothing on my report. It would have fallen off if so. I refused to give her any information and she said she could pull up my report right then on the phone. She kept asking me to verify my information and I said you tell me what you have since you have my report. She got a little irate saying that she can offer me a nice settlement on the outstanding balance. Which was originally $1300 and now it is over $3000.

I explained to her that I would do my own research and if it looked like I owed something I would handle it. She then said she would transfer me to her senior account manager and to hold on. I immediately hung up and began my research on this company.

I do not believe this company is operating practices are legal. Any help I can get is needed.
