After having my mortgage loan for about two years, Ocwen bought it. It took several months for them to get our loan straightend out because it was an escrow loan.
After the first year, I found out that Ocwen didn't pay my house insurance out of my escrow and had charged me for their hazard insurance. After several phone calls I finally got that taken care of.
The second year rolled around and the same thing happend. Again, I had to call and call. I finally called my insurance agency and my agent called Ocwen. She called me back and informed me of the trouble she had with Ocwen, but stated that she had straightened everything out.
I was having a rough time making my payments and got behind a couple of months. Ocwen informed me that they were getting ready to forclose. I asked them if I could pay the two months that I was behind to catch everything up to date. They refused and stated that I not only had to pay the two months, but also had to pay their attorney fees and foreclosure expenses which amounted to over $3,000.
Now if I am late on a payment, they tack on additional fees besides my late payment fee. Just a couple months ago, they tacked $800 on to my late fees stating that it was for their attorney fees. I have never heard from their attorney since the one time when the house was ready to go into foreclosure. I can't understand how they can charge me these fees, when I haven't received any correspondence from an attorney.
I also have problems with them sending me my escrow statement at the end of the year. When I received my escrow statement (which I received this last week instead of in January), I found out that they are increasing my monthly payment amount by almost $100. I know my property taxes and insurance haven't gone up that much, so I would like them to explain why they are increasing my payment by so much.
