I contacted One and Only Locksmith to open a bedroom door in an apartment that I sublet to two college students on October 13, 2016. The ad online said it was $19 visit and then they told me that the cost to open the door might be $25 or more, but they would give me an estimate before doing any work. I live in a city about an hour north of where the apartment is located in Richmond, VA. I was told that I had to fill out two online forms before the locksmith would be dispatched.. One form was to approve the credit card to be used for payment and the other form was giving authorization that I leased the apartment. The credit card form was sent to me at 7:39 pm and I returned with signature at 7:43 pm. I had

to call the company because I did not get the 2nd form. A woman told me that once the form was returned they would dispatch the locksmith. I was sent the 2nd form at 7:56 pm and I filled it out and returned it via email at 7:59 pm. Then at 8:02 pm I received an incoming call from a locksmith telling me he completed the work and the cost was $150!! So the locksmith was at the apartment doing the work before I had completed the necessary paperwork. He never called me to give me an estimate before completing the work. The college students did not have authorization to give permission to do any work and was never given an estimate either. Then, when I argued about not paying $150 they lowered the price to

$100. I refused to pay. They left the apartment and came back with an invoice. The locksmith told my college student renter that I had paid $100 and for him to sign the invoice. While all of this was happening I made many phone calls to the company. My first phone call was at 8:04 and the company told me that the locksmith was not their subcontactor. I thought maybe the apartment community had hired the locksmith so I told them to cancel the service and not to charge my card. They assured me they would not charge my card, but "if they do" to just call for a refund. I knew then that this was a scam. The locksmith would not leave my apartment until I threatened to call the police. It was after this that he lied to my renter

and told him that I had agreed to pay the $100 and for him to sign the invoice. Apparently he was agreeing to the $100 charge by signing the invoice. But, that is not ME. I did not authorize the $100 transaction. The locksmith kept calling me and telling me that One and Only Locksmith was the company who sent them out.
