I consider myself to be a savvy shopper, and I do my best to shop on trusted sites that are legitimate. When I was looking for concert tickets, I Googled the show and this website came up, so that was where I shopped. I purchased tickets on February 10, 2016. The face value printed on the tickets was $35.

Had I known this was not the official site, I NEVER would have completed the purchase. While I was looking at tickets and pricing, there was no indication what the face value of the tickets were from the venue. I purchased 2 $35 tickets ($70 total) and was charged $184.30 for them. That's almost three times the amount of the face value of the tickets. This was for a show that ended up having ticket sales so low that everyone who had purchased a lawn seat was upgraded to a regular seat. It does not appear to be a fair business practice to charge prices like this at all, let alone give the appearance of selling seats at a cost not clearly stated to have an astronomical markup. Had I realized this, I would have closed my browser and sought out the main ticket purveyor, which I now know to be Live Nation.

I contacted the reseller and they said that they state plainly that they are a reseller and it was market value of the tickets for their demand. Which is not possible, because the entire lawn was upgraded, which indicates exactly how undersold the show was. They inflated the price by inventing the idea of demand that did not exist.

Their offer to me was a $20 refund, which is not approaching close to the amount I was charged. They should be held responsible for the price gouging if they are not going to cap the amount of money they charge above the value of a ticket.

I want to advocate for other consumers out there who end up on sites like this where brokers bilk customers out of a lot of money in the name of demand and capitalism. It should not be allowed to happen. Thank you.
