Ok, unlike some of the others, I guess I am dumb. I ordered the trial through a 'survey' website which links with Onlingo.

Upon submitting my payment and contact info, was told I would receive a confirmation email. NO SUCH LUCK, NO EMAIL.

I was aware of the deal, you get CD's, try it for 10 days for S&H of $6.95 and if you don't like, return before the 10 days and not get billed further. Those who are complaining about not being told there would be further charges of something like $69.00 for lessons, hogwash. They tell you that straight up in the 'finer print' and 'terms and conditions'. That much they didn't do wrong.

But .... I changed my mind about 30 minutes after submitting. I looked for their email address to cancel. NO SUCH LUCK, NO EMAIL ADDRESS. They use 'form mail' and offer no direct email address. You fill out a form and hit submit and then who the heck knows what?

So I phoned the 800 number for 'Customer Service'. I picked the option for customer service representative and heard a message starting with 'the next representative etc...' and then a 2-3 minute message about how much fun Onlingo is, how it will help me and all that stuff ... then ... MUSAK! (At least it was Spanish music, the course I ordered!!)

The music wasn't all that bad either and .... entertained me for 2 additional minutes before another message from the same voice, 'hola, bonjour, guten tag ....' And again 2-3 more minutes of stuff about the fun with Onlingo, how it will help me, use it in the car, etc... And then ..... ROUND TWO, 'your call is very important to us, etc.' And the same two other messages and THEN ..... 'your call is very important to us, heavy call volume, wait time of 5 minutes ...' And guess what .... ? ROUND 3, all the previous messages OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER, ROUND 4, ROUND 5, etc.. 5 minute wait times of now... 45 minutes. I told you I am dumb!

So, I tried again later and again today and same thing. Maybe some people get through, dunno but I didn't and this freaked me out and I went looking and found this website, and MANY others about how fraudulent this company is.

In fact, I found only 3 favorable posts. One was from a 'mom and her kid' and how wonderful the program and company is. The post 'sounded' almost like the message on their customer service line ... hmmmmm? Even if this 'Mom' does think they are 'wonderful', then obviously, she wanted the course and doesn't mind paying out the $69.00 every month (probably forever) and all is well for her.

Well, my problem is more like the rest of the folks who simply want to return the CD's without problems, )in my case not even have them sent), something reading here and elsewhere told me would be impossible. By the way, did some checking and they have been reported to the California BBB more than 50 times, YIKES!

So, I blocked my debit card before they charged me. I sent them an email using their form mail. I was specific with my account details and told them not to send me the product. I did not mention blocking the debit card. They can sue me for payment and we'll see how far they get.

I will return the CD's marked 'return to sender' as often as it takes. I hope that helps the few who have yet to be billed or to stop further billing. Blocking you card will usually take your back 7 days to get you another card. For me it is worth it to prevent the stuff I am reading here. They can sue me for payment. I will keep you posted.
