I had a car loan with Onyx since 1999. I have prided myself on never being late with a payment and would check my credit report quit often. It reported ALL the time on my credit reports that I was paying as agreed and never late. In August of 2004 I refinaced my home to consolidate my bills and the balance of my auto loan was included in the consolidation.
I called them several times and they assured me that I could put July and August payments in the loan since I was paying the loan off and that it would not affect my credit. My loan refinace was closed in the bigging of September and they said evrything would be fine.
I called several times and started speaking to another loan officer named Miss Davis who became extremly rude and arogant when I explained that this would run into September. They told me my payoff was good till September 14, 2004. I paid the car off on the 13th of September after closing on my refinace.
I soon discovered that the lied and reported July and August late in payments on my credit reports and even had the nerve to put December of 2004 on my credit report when I paid the loan off in September of 2004.
I then hired a man at Assurred Credit in MArlton for $395.00 to help me straghten it out and we called them at his office. When we were on the phone woth a man named Koreem at Qnyx Acceptance Corp he was arogant and rude and said he would keepm the late reporting on my file and that he would update my file to relect 3 more late time over the years that they never reported. He did.
And now my credit file after I paid the loan off shows 5 time late on my report and falsly reports 60 days and 90 days when I wasn't. He was very spitful and nasty as hell towards me. I can't beleive these thugs did this to me after 4 1/2 years of never late. I can't beleive how prejudice he was towards me and at the fun he was having.
Onyx is rude, nasty and not to be trusted. They prey on people who need a car loan and then stick it to their customers in the end and have no regard for them.
The man I hired to help me make things good with Onyx also did nothing for me but charged me to make my credit worse. He told me all along he would help - he did not. All he did was helped himself to my money.

Onyx is part of Capitol One Auto Finance, there customer service leaves much to be desired. Seems to me they are definately outsourced! They told me that I could call them back to pay the late charge for free. And I also noticed that the late charge is never the same, explanation..... it depends on your payment, 1/2 your payment goes to principle and the rest to interest. Somehow they have managed to lose a payment of ours and although we are up to date now, they still have us as being late. I would never recommend them for anything. They are not willing to work with their customers and as I stated before their customer service is by far the worse I have encountered. Rude and nasty individuals. They talk over you when you are trying to explain something and they call every hour on the hour, never leave a message either.
So although this rebuttal may come late... I know exactly how you feel.
