Oregon Hosting - JC Nelson - Steve Nick Dishonest, Rude to Customers, Screwed Employee. Must Read ripoff Portland Oregon

I was working for a a company called CCS (which I had only been making $9.00 hour at) that I had been at for over 2 years. To make a long story short I was unhappy in my job as sales were low and my hours were cut. It was a difficult time and I was having a hard time making bill payments. So I posted my resume on craigslist in hopes of a better future and new life.

I was with my family celebrating my soon to be 22nd birthday. One night around 9:30pm I recieve a call from a man named Steve Nicks on the sunday night. He said he was an investor for Oregon Hosting and that they were looking for an Admin/Tech to start working ASAP. So we talked and the job was offered to me over the telephone with no formal interview. He told me that they would pay me a hell of alot more money that I was making at CCS and that they wanted me to start immediately.

The next day (Monday) I went in with my grandfather to meet the owner of the business JC Nelson as I would be starting on the Wednesday. So I notified my supervisor at CCS and was honest with her and told her that I found this new job that was going to pay me alot of money with the promise of lots of hours and had profit sharing thing for their employees. Her and I were both very excited as this is the path I wanted to go down! As a female tech it is sometimes hard to be accepted in the IT community as most are men.

So I worked Monday and Tuesday at CCS and started my new job at Oregon Hosting on the Wednesday 02/28 (which by the way was my birthday) On day #1 I installed a wireless card into a desktop and sat there doing nothing literally all day. On Thursday I sat there literally doing nothing. I asked JC if he had any work for me and he said that he did not have time to train me on anything new. On Friday I sat there doing nothing.

On Monday I was trained to do some work in their billing database. They hired some teenager to do it previous to me and I guess the girl messed it all up so I ended up spending most the day correcting her work. Then I was trained on the phones.

The first moment I knew that this company was shady was when a lady who owned a small piano business called with a few questions. I admit that she was a talker and JC told me to get off the phone with her. I tried and tried but I did not want to be rude. He then told me to hang up on her. I refused to. JC then grabbed the phone out of my hand and yelled at the lady and hung up on her. That is no way to treat a customer under any circumstances.

So I go about my day and a lady who was a local business owner called and started screaming/swearing at me saying that she spoke with me a couple weeks ago about her account. I politely explained to her that I had only been hired the previous week and the girl who was working there previous to her was terminated. I did not understand the womans issue and had little training on how to use their systems because JC was so busy. Ok. Understandable. So Steve came in and got mad at me because I did not know the issue. Steve assumed that I did not care and I assured him that I was not yet trained on how to use the system.

The next morning I come into work and JC looks at me and is like "I need to let you go" I am thinking WHAT??? He said that a customer called and said that I was rude and said it was probably the lady who was screaming at me. He stated that he had no choice and Steve is the one who had the money. He stated that his hands were tied and he could not do anything for me. He said that he would lie for me and tell new prospective employers that I worked there for 6 months or even a year. I could not believe it, I was in total shock!

I was SO devistated as I left my job I had been at for over 2 years which was at least paying my bills and stable. I lived on my own with my 2 cats and payed my own bills and everything. I lost my apartment. My phone was shut off. My internet was shut off. I was evicted from my apartment because I could not afford rent. I had to find new homes for my 2 kitties. I was homeless. I lost all my ambition for everything I had worked so hard for in my life. My parents died when I was really young so I had nobody to fall back on.

Oregon Hosting hurt me really bad and I am even now 3 months later still trying to pick up the pieces of my life. I have a new apartment and a new job.

JC Nelson and Steve Nick are heartless, cold people. Nobody should do business with them as they will not be billed for a year or 2 and all of a sudden end up with a bill for 2 years. I dont believe that the way they do business is moral and these people have no integrity.

What goes around comes around and one day these guys will have to deal with their bad karma.

I hate you with a passion Oregon Hosting and I will spend the rest of my days telling people how sleazy your company is. Word of mouth can go a long way! See for yourselves.
