They charge you final value fees (commissions) on items where buyers don't pay, but promise to credit you for those fees. Unfortunately, it's a lie, they never credit you for those fees.

You can report scammers to them and provide undeniable proof of the scammers' actions, but they never terminate/suspend the scammers' user accounts.

Their web servers are always overloaded and have caused a number of users to end up with botched auction listings that they can't fix. So the user can only cancel their auction listings. When you complain to the company about the problem, they still charge you a listing fee even though your listing are useless due to their server problems.

They have a message board (forums) for users and if you dare post anything even remotely negative about your experience with the company, four "would-be" regular users there dogpile you and tear you a new a-hole. Even though the users bigmooselodge, southie, twigsplace and motreasures would appear to be regular users - they are specifically mentioned on one of the staff members' (bugleboy) home page explicitly in a buddy-buddy fashion.

More than 67% of the messages in the message boards are written by these four users, so it's clear that they have some kind of inside track with the company. Some people (including myself) believe these users are actually paid by the company to drive off anybody who might post a message depicting overstock.com in a negative fashion. After they drive off that user, their messages are deleted to prevent search engines from indexing them.

Frankly, the company, the users mentioned in the above, and their staff just suck out loud. They claim they're "taking on the big boys" but it appears more like they're just kicking their own a$$es every day, and you are forced to pay for their mistakes. Don't waste your money on their products, services or stock.
