Windows were to have a lifetime warranty.  At installation, their crew damaged window & screens, not to mention the inside trim which my husband had recently painted.  They also failed to complete/properly install the outside trim.  They are saying they will not replace the window, that they do not feel the damage is bad enough.  These were supposed to be brand new windows, for which we have been charged, what we now know is a ridiculous amount of money & they expect us to accept their crappy work.  We were told that until we told the credit card company that everything was installed & done so to our satisfaction, that they would not process charge, yet even though we did not ok anything, as they still have not brought out & installed the new screens or finished the trim, they processed even though I had already called numerous times & let them know not to do so.  Below is a partial list of the lies we were told:

-You don't pay until you tell us you are completely satisfied with the product & installation.  See above for how that went.

-Since the product has the Good Housekeeping Seal, even if the business went out of business, which these people apparently have done under the name of Dixie Home Improvement, based on other posts, we wouldn't have to worry as GH would honor the warranty.  GH's warranty is only good for TWO years after purchase.  Perhaps these cons are planning on closing out as Paradise & opening under yet another name soon, as that is the only way the scenario given by the salesman, Ricky Williams & his boss, Paul Redmon, could apply.

-All our installers are covered by Workers' Comp. insurance.  The crew leader told me himself that he could not afford to get insurance on himself, as it was too expensive, & the company didn't pay him enough.  Said that he had already been injured on another job, so the company had to know that he was not covered.  I requested that Jeff Becker send me a copy of the insurance policy dec page showing if this Rodney was covered, but never received anything, because he was not covered. They are sending at least one uninsured worker onto people's property & the person thinks they are all insured.  Also this guy, Rodney, tries to say what a great handyman he is & what a great job they do, but his crew left broken glass, nails/tacks/metal, vinyl pieces & other debris all over our flower bed, yard & inside the house.  They were absolutely horrible!  I have numerous pictures of the messes & the damage they did to window & screens.  They rushed to get out & didn't give any time for proper inspection of their crappy job.  He was also peddling his services for any other jobs we might want done, outside the scope of working for these crooks.  Wouldn't hire him to build a birdhouse, as the birds deserve better.

-Saleman also stated, repeatedly that due to the double panes & gas barrier, the outside cold would not come in contact with the inside heat & there would be no condensation, as that was one thing I was interested in.  I have since been told by a reputable dealer that anyone who would say that is lying.  I have the email saying so.

-Lifetime Warranty - they are refusing to replace the window which their inept crew damaged at installation.  Said they would replace the screens & finish/repair the trim they did not properly install, but they have not done so.  Was told the screens would be in last week, but have heard nothing.  The manufacturer Slocomb refuses to replace unless they order the window.  Would not trust them either, as initially a Jeff Slocomb indicated they would make it right, but apparently the little boy's daddy told him he didn't have the authority to do that.  He also cursed during our conversation, which I found to be unacceptable & as with the rest of these con men totally unprofessional.

-At initial call from them, they indicated they didn't know where they got my contact number, even though my line is listed on DNC list.  About a week and a half after the sale, I received a call from their marketing department telling me that my name had been drawn from an entry I placed at Pumpkin Fest & that we were entitled to a discount on their products.  After explaining we had already signed to purchase windows (of course the call came after the three day period during which the contact could be cancelled), he said that perhaps we would want to use it on one of their other products.  I told him we would not.  I contacted Paul Redmon, who said that we had already received 10% discount, but there is no way of knowing that, as from a post by an ex employee, it appears there is no set costs, they pull numbers out of the air, as high as they can get a buyer to go & they refuse to provide a cost sheet showing individual cost of windows.  Either they were lying when they said they didn't know where they got my number, or when the marketer called thinking they could con us into purchase something else from them.

I have seen two reports on this site, as well as ones on other sites about these ripoff artists.  I would love to get response from those, as the public needs to know to avoid them at all costs.  A class action might be exactly what is needed & I would certainly be willing to join in one.
