I placed an order with paraphernalia.nu totalling $75.00 for 3 items (having bought a necklace from her previously with no problems).

After 10 days and still no delivery I contacted Vanda (the owner) by email - as there are no contact numbers on the website - to ask for an update on when I might expect receipt of the goods. No response....

A week later I contact her again via the website form and email address provided. No response.

A month after placing my order, still nothing from Vanda. No jewellery.... no answers.....

Several months later I placed a dispute with paypal - which found in my favour. Unfortunately they were unable to recover costs from her account.

So I am $75.00 lighter and nothing to show for it. I wouldn't mind the wait but not hearing anything has been deeply frustrating.

The website is still live so I would discourage anyone from placing an order as they are unlikely to receive their goods.

Hello Emma

AUTHOR: Paraphernalia - (USA)

Any questions about ordering and delays should be directed to shopparaphernalia@gmail.com. Same about asking for refunds or resending of your orders. . Paraphernalia has been going through a difficult phase with a change of country and house as well as some personal problems thrown into the mix. Vanda, the busy hands behind Paraphernalia, is desperately trying to catch up to orders and as such there have been some delays in delivery. However all is coming back to normal, and as such your necklace, if it hasn't arrived yet, should be with you shortly!

At the moment we have no delayed orders, all new orders are being dispatched the same week. We are now offering shipping with tracking for any part of the world for only $2 extra, so you can be sure of when your package was sent and where it is.

If you e-mail us we will now reply same day and you will not be lacking for communication with us. I hope that you can understand the conditions under which the business was being run, and also realise that with such a big turnover a small number of orders is always bound to slip through the cracks of the post-system or of the whole kerfuffle of moving house and country.

I apologise again for all the problems with orders that some people have had. However I am here now, and ready to reply, refund and re-send. Thank you all for your patience.

Vanda has been reported to Paypal for fraud.

AUTHOR: Sasha - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 22, 2009

This is comments posted from the Paraphernalia website left by unhappy customers...

The first order of mine to have not been delivered is #1547, I have a second order #1814.. Victoria mentions order #1312... between those two numbers, that is an incredible amount of orders - at least 500. Even if each order is only $20 dollars or so, Vanda has stolen over $10 000! This is a conservative estimate too, as my orders alone amount to $80.

I have just received my chargeback from the bank, so it's definitely worth looking into. It is also good to bear in mind that your bank is usually far more lenient with regard to delay in reporting the fraud - I instituted chargeback procedures nearly 60 days after the purchase was made [paypal only accepts complaints within 45 days].

I have reported Vanda to paypal for fraud anyway, even though I can't get any money out of them. They'll have to now fight with her, seeing as my bank has debited them the money that I originally sent. I am also planning on bringing this matter to the attention of the consumerist.com because people are obviously still placing orders, unaware that Vanda is stealing from us all... on a daily basis! I am thoroughly disgusted, and have not worn any of the items I had purchased on previous occasions because it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

After ordering from this rip off person and not receiving my things, I found another site that has similar necklaces (they have nothing to do with "Paraphernalia" or "Vanda") that are actually much cooler and the service was excellent.
I ordered from them and received right away! They offer wholesale as well.
