On 28 January, 2004 I went to my local Long's Drugstore to purchase a Fedex envelope to transmit my payment to the Appliance Repair Schools. I sent a Bank Check drawn on my Credit Union account for nine hundred and ninety seven dollars pay able to Appliance Repair Schools. This amount was required in order to enroll at the Top Tier level or their highest level of enrollment
which comes with a Pentium IV computer(which was to contain a CD-RW Drive and a 40GB hard drive which was filled with all the information to fully conduct business as a computer liquidator-broker). I then called the School to inform that my check was in the Fedex system and on its way to them.
First February, 2004 I confirmed, by way of Fedex tracking number, the envelope was signed for by Karen, at their front desk, about 09:15a.m. 29 January, 2004. 04 Februay, 2004 I called the Appliance Repair Schools, to inquire as to when I could expect shipment of the product. I was told it be in my possession about the eleventh of February, 2004.
I called Appliance Repair Schools on the eleventh of February, 2004 to make further inquiry as to when the package would be in my possession and I would be able to get started in my new career of computer broker and liquidator of blemished computers and electronics, including PDAs, monitors,PC parts, Flat screen
TVs and the authorization to sell the program to friends and family members, so that they might share in great wealth. I was told that there was a mandatory hold on bank checks written in an amount of over five hundred dollars as was required by the Homeland Security Act, possibly in our struggle against foreign terrorists.
I called my credit union which issued the bank check and was informed the check had cleared on 04 February. So the money was in their hands by the time of my second telephone call.
Perhaps fraud can better be called a form of domestic terrorism or a crime against capitalism.
