PayPal Buyer Credit Rip off, unfairly cancelled my account! El Paso Texas

Here's my story:

In August, I lost my PayPal Buyer Credit services card with my account number and other information on it. With any other credit company the people over the phone will get your information and send a new card out to you after cancelling the old one. Not with PayPal Buyer Credit!

The people told me to: (a) cancel my PayPal account so I could be able to "use" my new account; and (b) deactivate my old account so they could send out a new account number and card. I did both of these, but NEVER recieved a new card with the new information. I called again in September (by now, I had bid on a 7-in-1 video camcorder and was depending on my PayPal Buyer Credit to pay that bid), and again asked for a new card with the new information on it.

I finally got the new statement with the new account number on it, and I registered the new account on the PayPal Buyer Credit website at paypal.geconsumerfinance.com So far so good. I also re-confirmed my PayPal account, and it is here that I found out that the new account did NOT link to the new PayPal account as the people said it would.

I called up the PayPal Buyer Credit number at 1-866-571-3012 and found out that, in order to reactivate my account (which now was "past due" because I couldn't make any payments due to the account information being compromised), I would have to re-apply for PayPal Buyer Credit so that the account would then "link" to my new PayPal account. There simply was NO other way to re-link my PayPal and PayPal Buyer Credit accounts. So I re-applied, and low and behold, my new application for credit is DENIED!

I had made my payments as soon as I possibly could (I could not access my account to make a payment while the new account information was being sent out), and had already shown them that I was a good customer and paid on time (or even early!).

So, in the end, PayPal Buyer Credit CANCELLS my account for losing my account information card (an honest mistake that other credit companies such as American Express were more than willing to deal with without the BS)! AND the credit application and subsequent denial likely brought down my credit score! Moreover, the ebay seller from whom I won the bid (the video camcorder) files and unpaid strike against my PayPal account BECAUSE PAYPAL BUYER CREDIT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HELPING ITS CUSTOMERS RECOVER LOST ACCOUNT INFORMATION!!! What a complete rip off!

P.S.: I DID get a refund check for $2.68 (the amount that I OVERPAID them), so at least PayPal Buyer Credit did that.
