PayPal is the biggest joke ever. They claim that they will protect both the buyers and the sellers, but it doesn't happen.

I've had two really negative occurances with paypal. I don't use eBay much, but these two occurances really set me off in a bad way. The first time, I bought this one item on eBay. I paid for it and all. It was a video game. About a week later, I got an EMPTY BOX. The box had nothing in it execpt paper and styrofome. I immediately contacted the seller, I told him, "hey buddy, why is there nothing in the box?" He responded once and said "I don't know what your talking about, I sent you the item perfectly, It even shows that it came to your house." I was outraged. I filed a complaint with PayPal, and they ended up ruling in this scumbag's favor, because the package did come to my house, and he had delivery confirmation, even though nothing was in the box.

My second negative occurance, was when I was the seller. I sold to this scammer in Oklahoma. I seem to have bad luck with these Oklahoma people, they must all be scammers, or all the scammers go to OK. Anyway, I delivered two video games, in two different packages. About two months after I sent the video games, I get this message from PayPal saying that they are holding my money until this case gets resolved. I checked this person's recent feedback, and it showed that he's been getting a lot of negative feedbacks, calling him a scammer. Apparently everyone he dealt with he filed for a refund with and claimed that he received no packages whatsoever from all of the 20 sellers or so. His eBay account was also shut down, he was no longer a registered user. He also refused to contact me at all, because as we all know, paypal tells you to work it out yourself and communicate. I sent numerous emails and messages to this individual with no response whatsoever. Eventually PayPal ruled in this jerks favor. I guess plain old delivery confirmation is just not enough. I've learned the tough was is to have everyone sign for their packages, no matter what.

I've only lost about $100 from using paypal, but being the debtful college student that I am, ever little bit helps.

If paypal is going to claim that they are safe, and protect both parties with their paypal protection program, they certainly should protect their customers. Because they certainly make one hell of a profit, they charge about 3% on all money that goes through their system. If they transfer a BILLION dollars a year, that means that they make 30 MILLION Dollars from just transfering money. Thats way too much money. They need to be controlled or shut down.
