Last year I was looking to learn more about building a website and making online videos so I could share my work with the world in a greater capacity. While doing some research I stumbled upon Pedram Shojai of Well.org and The Urban Monk and learned that he offered a Media Academy Program for people just like me.

I watched his movie "Prosperity" and thought to myself "Hey, this guy seems like a pretty legit humanitarian with a niche in conscious entrepreneurship". I resonated with the message he was sharing plus he made a lot big promises in the marketing videos from the get go (Big gathering of all the participants at the end of the course, complete access to his "Rolodex" and also being a member of his online community group etc. etc. etc.)

Well I signed up for the program and began my new training! At first things seemed pretty decent. I talked with his community liaison Sean Rivas on multiple occasions but I found his insight and guidance to be rather unhelpful and inconsistent.

As I began to participate in the online group I found that there was simply no activity and very little energy but despite that I carried on thinking things would get better...I was wrong. The whole entire online program seemed to be rushed and rather messy. I was getting more disappointed with each module I completed.

I decided to call it quits and ask for a refund. After many frustrating emails between Sean and I, he finally came right out and said "You are past the 30 days so you can't have your money back!" Now almost a year later I see that all of the big promises Pedram Shojai (the Urban Monk) made were completely false.

There has been no big gathering, there is no "Rolodex" and the community page has been shut down (how would I have known this when I signed up). So I sent Pedram Shojai a direct message via Facebook and he made some false accusations toward me and threatened to block me.

I believe he feels he is beyond accountability and I am left feeling a victim of false marketing.
