Stephen Lane president of Stephen Lane Custom homes also doing business as Perillium Homes and god knows whatever other names he is using, is deceitful. This man ripped us off claiming he would honor his two-year warranty, then told us "f**k you sue me", when it was time to correct the problems. I have since corrected the problems myself...after over several thousands of dollars spent.

His list of satisfied customers ended up being relatives of the developer Kenneth Blood of Booze, Blood and Bruzuela, law firm in St. Charles Illinois and developer of the subdivisions where Stephen Lane builds. (business partners)

If you go to his website,www.perilliumhomes.com, you will also see under his client testimonials, a man called "Jerry Piro". This is a friend of Stephen Lane. Jerry Piro claims he is an Architect and belongs to the AIA. When I contacted the AIA, they said mr Piro does not belong to them. Mr. Piro of Carl Sandburg Drive in St. Charles, does not even show as a licenced Architect in the State of Illinois.

Another testimonial letter is from Kenneth and Sandra B. Guess who this is... you guessed it, the developer Mr. Blood. He claims Stephen build his 2 million dollar house on Denker Rd. in St. Charles. According to the county records, Stephen Lane had nothing to do with the sale of this property. (Gee I hope he claimed this on his income tax, we may need to see this). Of course Mr. Blood and Mr. Piro are coming to Stephen Lanes side and assisting him on decieving innocent Home buyers.

This damage control only comes after several realtors in the area of St. Charles had seen for themselves people getting ripped off by this man. One couple went as far as to place a sign on their vehicles saying "We regret building with Stephen Lane of Perillium Homes".

Be very careful of this builder and developer and choose your next builder wisely....Listen to the negative comments. Ask these people to show you the problems before discounting them...or even beleiving them..

Remember, "where there is smoke, there is fire". Don't get ripped off !

The report states that Jerry Piro is not a licensed architect in the state of Illinois. Jerry Piro stated he is a registered professional architect, period, in his letter of recommendation for Steve Lane.

He is a registered Architect in the state of Georgia. The licensing requirements are the same for almost all 50 states including Georgia and Illinois. Jerry Piro took the national licensing exam while living in Atlanta.

AIA is social organization for architects. AIA mebership is not required to retain your license to professionally practice architecture. Jerry Piro intentionally allowed his AIA membership to expire.

The report states that "Mr. Piro was coming to Steve Lane's side and assisting him on deceiving innocent home buyers". Mr. Piro has no personal or professional affiliation with Steve Lane or his company and has no agenda or incentive to "deceive" anyone interested in building a home.

Jerry Piro provided a sincere and honest letter of recommendation to Steve Lane based on his extremely positive experience building a home with Mr.Lane. Mr. Piro's only objective was to ensure that prospective home owners were fully aware of Steve Lane's commitment to quality and serving the individual needs of each of his clients, and most importantly, his unconditional personal and professional ethics and integrity.

Anyone reading the report and this response is strongly encouraged to contact Steve Lane and discuss this issue with him. Mr. Lane can also provide you with Mr. Piro's phone number who would be happy to personally discuss these false allegations, and why anyone would be willing to state such lies to decieve home buyers from the truth.

It is also curious that the writer of the report did not include his name and phone number if his purpose was to inform people of the truth?
Without this information, he obviosly can not be held accountable for his lies and false allegations.

Again, Jerry Piro is a licensed architect and general contractor who hired Steve Lane to build a home for his family. Mr. Piro stands behind his full endorsement and recommendation of Steve Lane to anyone interseted in building a home.
