After not hearing from anyone about the part, I called Pero Trailer Products on February 16, 2010 and spoke with an unidentified male whom indicated that the part was not in, but was expected to arrive in the shipment on Friday, February 19, 2010. On February 18, 2010 I received a call from someone at Pero Trailer Products that informed me that the part had arrived. Due to my work schedule conflicting with the hours of operation for Pero Trailer Products, I was unable to pick up the part until February 24, 2010. Once I returned home and compared the part that was ordered with the part that I had brought in to the store I noticed that the two did not match in width or length and the part was not going to fit in the bracket on the trailer.
Due to conflicts in my schedule and their operating hours, I was unable to return to Pero Trailer Products until March 24, 2010. I arrived at approximately 9:30 am to return the part. I spoke with an older unidentified male and when I addressed the problem with the part ordered he attempted to find a replacement in their stock, but was unsuccessful. I explained that the female, Julie Ann Pero-Johnson, was the one that assisted me when I ordered it he told me to wait for her to finish up with her phone call. After a couple of minutes she was off the phone and I explained the discrepancy. She explained that she would allow me to return the part, but I had to pay a 15% restocking fee since they do not sell that part. I stated that I did not feel that I should be held responsible for any restocking fee since she was the one that measured and ordered the part for me with the assurance that it was a match. She then became agitated and I mentioned that she had commented about the outer measurement when she was looking for the part. She then became hostile and indicated that they always go by the inner measurement and I was wrong. The older male then yelled out for her to refund the "d**n money" so I "could get the hell out of the store".
Julie Ann Pero-Johnson then asked for my credit card and went to the cash register. At that time she examined the receipt and pointed to a sign on the wall that explained their 30 day return policy. I explained that the part did not come in until after the 30 day period expired and that did not seem fair. She then said that she would not refund my money "on principle" and exclaimed that she was the owner and she could do whatever she wanted. At that time she told me to get out of her store and as I did she kept yelling at me as I walked through the parking lot. In my anger I yelled back for her to f$^% off and then I departed the property.
