I bought a refurbished mp3 player from philips outlet store in december 2005 which never worked right from day one. Also it looked bad, old with many scratches on it. I called the customer suppoert and let them know that its not working. They told me to return the unit. Next day i got a call from them asking me to just fax the proof of purchase and that i dont have to return the scrap unit, so that they can reimburse me.

Since i bought it online and it being a refurbished one, i never had a proof of purchase. All i had in that box is a piece of paper from fedex and some registraion form, which i faxed them. (with ref # 1L0LT & Attn- Robyne). I didn't get any call from them. In the mean time I got a letter from a consumer representative asking me to mail the serial no tag & copy of the letter. I called them regarding this n they told me its of no use, just fax the proof of purchase.

I told them that i never got a proof of purchase, but said that i had a conformation email from the outlet store. So they asked me to forward that email alog with i've also sent the scanned letter, and some other papers.

Since then i call them everytime n each time new agent answers and they tell me to do the same thing. I have called them about 15 times, faxed them 3 times, emailed 3 times. Its of no use. And just now i called them one of those customer agents is so irresponsible that he was saying that he didn't recieve any email from me. Hows that possible, i didn't get any failure report email back, so it should reach them. He says me to email again n again and that he can't help me.

I got sick of all this. What can I do more than this. Well its only $80.00 that i've spent on it, but i'm a student who earns less than $500 a month from a part time job, and i'm hardly left with a penny by the end of the month. Well i'm not bothered even if i don't get my money back, but i expect u guys to look into these kind of matters and protect other customers from not getting cheated like me.
