We were contacted several months ago via an ad by "The Phillips Law" stating they could assist us in a Home Modification Loan and of course we became interested as our mortgage rate is at 6.63% and they stated they could lower the house from the amount we owe to what the current market value is now.

On Monday, April 9, 2012 I made a return call and spoke with a Miss Walker and she explained the process and she requested documentation related to our banking and mortage balances.  This was sent and immediately she called back stating they could get us the loan modification as we qualified.  In the process I was directed to their webpage but was not able to proceed as there was a glitch.  She then said that she would fill the documents out and would email them to me (of which she did) but in the process she instructed that I needed to send them a "Post Dated Check marked 4-16-2012" in the amount of $2995.00.  NOTE:  First she said #2000.00 and then recanted.

She kept stressing that I must have this check with a copy of the mortage with this years Tax returns in her office no later than 16 April and the check made out to Phillips Law and if I didn't get in by then then we would "default".  By that I have no idea what she meant.

I then decided to check on the Law firm and found several complaints and they are not at all favorable.
