RIP OFF REVIEW OF PLATINUM AUTOMOTIVE LLC, DAVE RENSINK OF SIOUX FALLS ... BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! PLATINUM AUTOMOTIVE IN SIOUX FALLS ARE NOTHING BUT SCAM ARTISTS and THIEFS. Here’s the scoop about the 2010 Charger he has listed, I purchased this vehicle 1/5/2018 and it was illegally "repo’d” 1/6/2018 - less than 24 hours after purchasing the vehicle. Platinum Automotive LLC, Dave Rensink and company ... have unlawfully taken $2600 of my hard earned money - claimed I "voided the contract” upon having the Charger less than 24 hours and not getting insurance by no later than 6pm on a Saturday - which is not a business day - and my agent does not do business on a weekend! I have proof that I DID call my insurance agent to get insurance for the car at 8:30 pm FRIDAY night when I got home from picking up the car from Sioux Falls, SD and they were closed and didn’t reopen until Monday. [continued below]....

....... Dave requested insurance information friday night and due by 6pm Saturday - which I provided proof of and was UNAWARE my current policy had lapsed due to my mail not being forwarded from moving to Sioux City from South Sioux. The following day I got home from working two doubles and got a text message reading: "Your car has been repossessed due to lack of insurance. The insurance you sent me was canceled a month now, you had until 6 p.m. today and I've got nothing so balance is do in full”. To my surprise my car was gone - taken without warning or without Dave letting me know my current policy had in fact been cancelled and allowing me to resolve the insurance issue immediately. He’s now stating that balance is "due in full” or I forfeit my $600 cash and my $1000 iPad Pro and $1000 iMacbook Pro... and refuses to return my property. He was given these items to hold onto until the next three payments for the down payment were made of $450 every two weeks until the middle of February - I have called numerous time Monday morning 1/8/2018 and sent a several texts asking for someone to please contact me... They text replied calling me a liar that I only called once ... I screen shot proof I had in fact made no less than four calls; I don’t appreciate being called a liar. I finally spoke to Dave Monday morning and offered to pay the insurance as per our agreement and apologized for the oversight on my part. He has called me a liar numerous times and hung up on me numerous times and says I’m trying to rip him off by pulling one over on him. In good faith, I left over $2000 in computers including my 13 inch iPad Pro, accessories with Apple Pencil and a MacBook Pro with him to hold until the down payment was finished paid and which are imperative to my profession ... he is now claiming that because I voided the "agreement” he’s entitled to keep all of my computers, and the $600 cash I paid up front... all for a vehicle that was in my possession for less than 24 hours. Upon review, I’ve realized the contract has been tampered with and changed from what was originally agreed upon. All of the purchase paperwork was in the Charger when they took it, along with all my personal belongings and life saving medications and service dog vest (as I’m disabled) which they refused to return. I had to call the Sioux Falls Police to get back a few of my belongings including the tampered contract - he refused to return any of my electronics nor was the $600 cash he took from me returned. Platinum Automotive LLC and Dave Rensink practices unfair, unethical and extremely SHADY business practices and he rips hard working people off from their hard earned money. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. Their business is a complete sham and a joke. Stay FAR FAR away from this ripoff con artist! I ALSO HAVE PROOF THAT HE POST THE SAME VEHICLE FOR DIFFERENT SALES PRICES WHICH IS DECEITFUL AND SHADY!!!

The other side of the story

AUTHOR: PLATINUM - (United States)

Rachelle Brown contacted us to get a vehicle via Facebook. I told her she needed $2500 down for the charger due to her credit score. She showed up claiming she only had $600 and asked if I would work with her. I decided to help her because she seemed honest and needed a good car. She offered to put up the electronics as collateral because she was short $2,000 on her down payment. I told her she needs to get insurance and asked if she already had it, she said yeah and that her dad was in insurance for 25 years and she knows all about it and how important it is. I told her she needed to get it before she left, she asks if she could get it the next day. I said you absolutely need it the next day otherwise I will take the car back. If you get in an accident, the business would be out thousands of dollars. I was willing to let her get it the next day because she claimed she currently had insurance on her other car. We even sent her a text the next day to remind her. She gave me insurance that was lapse for over a month. Going through her app and her other vehicle, everything she had stated was a lie. It takes 5-10 mins to put insurance on a vehicle and if you refused to put insurance on a vehicle it will get repossessed. That's part of the contract and She was made well aware of it, and sent several reminders of this to get it done.  It costs a lot of money to repossess a car from 90 miles away. She violated the contract and found lies about her app and other things she claimed. Everything was a lie. I told her she purposely violated the contract and can get the car for the remaining balalce and she can get her stuff out at anytime. I didn't refuse to give her her stuff back as she claims.

She showed up with her friends threatening my employee and then proceeded to sit in the lobby right by the door and call the cops claiming she was in fear for her life- instead of walking out the door she sat inside and said that. I called the cops to handle the situation and they helped her get all her stuff out of the car. I kept the electronics to cover the cost of the repo. I offered for her to get her electronics for the cost of the repo and let's be reasonable about it even though you put my business at risk for thousands of dollars. But instead of doing that she posted my family all over facebook calling me a scam artist and a liar.

Since then 4 dealers from around Sioux City have called me and said that RACHELLE BROWN HAS SCREWED THEM OVER ON DOWN PAYMENTS, SOLD THEIR CAR SHE HAD A LIEN ON TO SOMEONE ELSE AMONG OTHER THINGS SHADY. She had a horrible track record with car loans and i was willing to help her out because she seemed honest, and was very upfront with her about the importance of getting insurance and what would happen if she didn't. If you are a seller of a vehicle or anything else BEWARE OF THIS LADY!!!!!! She will lie to you to get what she wants and if you don't she will slander you and your family all over facebook. We have lots of happy customers and she is ruining the business with her lies and slander. If you see anymore post please email me at She is under a cease and desist for slander and harassment.

Tampering with a Contract Agreement

AUTHOR: Elle Brown - (United States)

The computers were left in "good faith” and expected to be returned ... never was it agreed upon that it was part of the deal ... the contracts were stolen and changed to reflect the shady deal - I have proof that Dave Rensink has been caught tampering with contracts in the past as well as criminal prosecutions from investment scheme flipping houses called Renford with his shady business partner, Joe Stanford. Seems like ripping off hard working people is not their "first rodeo” ... they have poked the wrong hornets nest! How do you like them "apples” now?! Check mate. The SEC for South Dakota has been in contact with me and he’s currently under investigation for fraudulent practices ...

You knew your insurance wasn’t current

The dealer knew you were uninsured but you had no idea? No one is buying that bull. You failed to honor the terms of the agreement. Here is a new word for you: Collateral.
