I too have been ripped off by a person in Romania using one of his or her various names Ionescu Viorel, Popescu Mihai Viorel before almost purchasing a similar item from
I believe the same person using a different name or a person in "cahoots" with him or her going by the name Marius Vasilicus as I have read about others being ripped off by persons with similar names.All I can say is never ,repeat never buy anything from Romania or a distant country that may be hard to track down because I am now out of $460 I could have paid a ticket with.
I do blame Amazon.com for ot screening their sellers better and reading the content that they broadcast on public announcement boards for the seller announced that he required payment thru Western Union which is not accepted at Amazon.com and now I know and it was not thru a private e-mail. Amazon told me there was no way to recover my money without anything else said so much as to have any sympathy for the situation.

A couple of days ago I did a search for "Segway" on Google. (I have no interest in buying one, but that's another story) Amazon.com came up immediately. Amazon.com has been a Segway sales outlet even before they were available. ($500. downstroke got your name on the list) Segway has caught up with the demand and Amazon now lists them for immediate delivery at $3.9K or $4.4K depending on model. Right below THEIR ad on THEIR site was an obvious scam ad. "Brand new Segway $1500.00 delivered." Just a little poking around revealed the "seller" claimed he was in the UK and would ship the "brand new Segway" prepaid freight for a $1500.00 Western Union money order. Uhhhh.....riight! A blatent scam that ANYONE posessing even a double digit I.Q. could see through.

To get to the point of my entry: I Emailed and called Amazon.com about the scam listing. They ultimately (NOT IMMEDIATELY) took the "$1500. deal" down but they took a position nearly unbelievably counter to any customer concerns. Their main concern was the fact the "seller" was going around Amazon.com via Western Union! To hell with anyone that fell for the scam that Amazon.com permitted on their site! Their concern was the fact that Amazon.com was being cut out of the sale with the "seller" going through Western Union bypassing Amazon.com. How DARE he do that!

To add interest to the whole disgusting debacle, the "$1500.00 Segway" ad was immediately below Amazon's own ad at $4495. And Amazon, being a Segway dealer for years, posted the d**n scam that particularly THEY could identify as bogus.

P.S.: I have the UK address to which the Western Onion money order was to be sent. Anyone interested? LMFAO!
