Hello my name is Denny and recently I have purchased equipment for my boat from Post Marine Supply. However, once receiving the order I opened the box and saw that one of the items was defective. From the way of which the equipment was packaged and its overall appearance I was forced to believe that someone else had this unit prior to me and I was very displeased. I therefore immediately called my salesman, Chris, about the situation and he informed me that I would receive another unit even if they had to go to another vendor. I then explained to him that I was leaving for a three-week vacation and the equipment needs to be working in order for the trip to even take place. Once again he assured me that the problem would be taken care of. However, he then decided instead of finding and sending me a new unit that he would simply supply me with the parts that were needed in order to repair the damage. I was not happy with the situation at all but I needed the parts in order for this vacation to happen so I agreed. I then ended up waiting all the way up until my vacation and still no parts had arrived for me to repair the unit. This then puts me in a worse situation because now I am forced to purchase the parts from a local vendor. I notified Chris that I wished to return the unit, which he sent to me, and he informed me that the equipment could not be returned. So I called Bank of America and explained to them my situation and they faxed me a Dispute Item Form. I explained to Chris that I do not buy used or damaged equipment nor do I repair equipment that should be in good working order when I purchase it. I myself am a dealer and if a piece of equipment that I sell goes bad during the warrantee period the manufacturer pays us to repair it. But this unit was never installed and I notified them immediately upon opening the box the box about the damage. The total credit I would like for my credit card is the amount of $888.74, $876.74 for the equipment and $11.81 for shipping. Enclosed is a copy of the receipt of my purchase from the other vendor.

Thank You

Denny

Well as you can see this has been a bad experience for me. I will never do business with Post Marine Supply. I own two boats and spend a large amount of my money on marine supplies and equipment. I belong to a large yacht club and would have referred them to my friends. I purchased over 3000.00 dollars at Post Marine Supply and the amount I am in dispute over is under 900.00 The money saved by ordering this equipment through them was under 300.00 so as you can see I made a poor decision.

A business should be judged on how they handle thing when something go wrong. I'm sure Post Marine supply could have return the equipment to the manufacture. Instead they are forcing me to keep something that was defective upon me receiving it.
