Prestige Camera ripoff gray market digital camera & bait and switch high pressure Brooklyn New York

I purchased a digital camera from them, and the box was full of Japanese writing. I wanted to return camera because I had ordered more than I had intended thru the pressure tactics used, and was told of a huge restocking fee. They "offered? many gifts to keep the camera. The tripod is laughable, a cloth to wipe the screen-wow-and more ridiculous items.

The battery I inserted (another "free" item would not release from the camera. I called Canon and was informed that my camera was not meant to be sold in the US, just in Asia, and was a gray market item.

Called Prestige who claims that it is listed as an import model--aren't all cameras imported? Told them I wanted it exchanged for a model meant for the US. Refused, told me they did nothing that wasn't clearly listed in the ad. The Canon rep was very nice, but Prestige basically told me it was my problem--that IXY is the Asian version of the SD5500 and I guess I should have known this. I will never order from them again and urge anyone else not too. Totally shady operation.
