This company will do anything, say anything and be anything in order to get you to pay. Now, I know I am responsible for this loan and that I shouldn't have taken on that responsibility if I knew I couldn't honor it. Thing is, I didn't know. After 2 years of near perfect payments I fell onto hardship. This company would not work with me until my payments fell 3 months behind. Then all of a sudden, the magic happened. I was offered a deal! Unfortunately they DID NOT honor that deal. So I have completely stopped paying. I told them to come take the vehicle and I'll see them in court. After countless harassment, hundreds of threats and even a home visit, the car still sits in my driveway. This company is the most unpleasant and disrespectful company I have ever dealt with.

I was told almost 8 months ago that they were repoing the vehicle and since then have been told over and over that - "we'll work with you." "We can help you, give us a call!" - etc. I have been told that I will be sued over and over again. They will say anything to try to scare you into payment. There are laws they break every time their reps open their mouths! One of their employees (Peggy) came to my house and said that they do not need a judgment against me in order to garnish my wages and that they can garnish up to 45%! I'd love to see them try! I have told them to stop calling me at work, as my employer doesn't allow personal calls and they have called me 3 times at work since then.

I have had 6 or more calls in one day from this company. I received two calls in 20 minutes at work from this company. They are very rude and extremely lack respect. I now wish I would have never done business with this company and I can't wait to have my day in court. When the judge sees my evidence, there is no way he/she will be able to side with this company, including the proof of misrepresenting facts and thus their little contract is void anyway.

Warning to all of you out there. NEVER DO BUSINESS with this so-called company.

Prestige Financial

AUTHOR: Whatever - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, March 17, 2012

To avoid being harassed all you have to do is pay your note each month,  I just paid off a car early with them and never once had a negative experience with them.  They got me a car when I was unable to otherwise, and even periodically lowered my interest rate as the promised.  In short, pay your bills!!

Not True

AUTHOR: Unhappy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 14, 2012

To Kathie, I have been with Prestige for 4 yrs now and I make my payments on time every month, for you to say the one that complain isn't paying their payment on time is not true. I have been getting email reminders two days in advance of my due date since I came on with them, but since I got a new account manager, not only do I get the emails, but she will call me right after sending the emails.

She calls my cell and house phone 2-3 times a day. Then she will call my granddaughter and everyone on my contact list and tell them that I need to make arrangements for my car payment. She is calling them on their jobs, cells, and house phones.

When I asked her to stop, then she just states that it is the company policy that they have the account managers to contact everyone like this. I can understand if I was late, or missed a payment, but that's not the case.

If anyone is thinking about signing on with Prestige, then please don't. It will be one of the biggest mistake of you life, because it has been for me.

They have very poor customer service skills and should be shut down for good.

You will lose in court.

I can tell your lying in your report because we wont work with you 8 months out.  Period.  By then we are done working with deadbeats.  Im very curious about this deal as well.  How did we not honor the deal?  What was the deal?  And I hope you know that we couldn't  care less if you stop paying because we know we will get the money in the end.  If there are laws broken every time they open their mouths how is it that they are still in busniess?  Im almost sure they you were never told you would be sued.  What you were probably told is that we sue people that dont pay their notes.  When the judge sees your evidence he will laugh at you.  You can't afford your car payment.  How are you going to afford legal councle?

A sign of our victim culture

"Now, I know I am responsible for this loan and that I shouldn't have taken on that responsibility if I knew I couldn't honor it. Thing is, I didn't know. "

If you take out a loan and find that you cannot pay it back, it must be someone else's fault.   I think the original poster is going to be in for a rude awakening if they ever go to court.   You can't just decide to stop paying on an obligaion because the company was rude when you initially defaulted.  All loan companies will be rude if you don't pay them.  That's a fact of life.

If you're thinking that this obligation will just disappear because you don't like their tactics, you're quite mistaken.  The longer you drag this out, the more it'll cost you in the long run.  Ignoring it is not a strategy that will work in the long run.

Never take out a car loan with Prestige Financial

AUTHOR: Anoneemuss - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 08, 2010

I have an auto loan with this company. Here is a basic summary of their business practices:

 - Give people in desperate situations loans at ridiculous (20% plus) interest rates.

 - If the borrower can't make a payment, presitge won't reposess the car, they'll just threaten to, and let the interest build up. Even if it takes 6 months to get another payment because the person lost their job. Well if you owe $15,000 and fall on hard times, they run up the interest just like it was unsecured debt on a credit card, compounding it. So after six months at over 20%, your $15,000 balance is back up over $18,000 in principle. Why isn't this considered Usury in the state of utah?

- When the person has been paying for a couple of years and falls on hard times again and they want to have the car voluntarily reposessed, threaten the consumer with liens, judgements, garnishments, taking what little they may have, forcing the sale of any other vehicle they have, etc...

I could go on and on. I have paid over $10,000 against an original loan of $18000, and guess how much left I have to pay in principle - about $18000. And that will take forever to pay off because of the ridiculous interest rate. Plus I now find myself out of work and unable to pay this month, so They'll probably be calling to tell me they will take my kids away if I don't pay. (that was a joke, but not far from the truth.)

To say that "you will never get a car loan again because you screwed them" is not constructive, completely WRONG and I am surprised was not edited out of the previous rebuttal post. Obviously if you have not missed a payment, then you won't have a problem with them. It's when you do miss a payment that their practices prove to be more vicious than any other financial institution I have dealt with, and I have dealt with a lot of them.

In my opinion, Presitge Financial is a textbook example of a predatory lender, and if you are fortunate enough to read this while you are considering taking out a car loan from them, consider yourself warned.

I DISAGREE

AUTHOR: Kathie - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, May 14, 2010

I have a loan with PFS and I have to say, I have never experienced anything negative or unprofessional from them... But.....

I do pay my car note every month as I agreed to.

The people that complain the loudest are the ones that are in the wrong.  Now that you've screwed them, you'll never get a car loan.
