I was contacted by Prestige Timeshare Marketing in March, 2007. For $699 they could market and sell my Westgate timeshare. Being that my 40 yr old husband had just had a massive heart attack, I readily agreed... as we needed the money to help pay for the mounting medical bills. Prestige "appraised" our property for $23K. GREAT, I thought.

I spoke with "David" in mid-April and the timeshare was "in contract" with a doctor and his wife. Wow! When will it close? Well, there were 91 people in front of us, it'd be "a few weeks". In late May, we still had not heard from them... so we called to find out the status of the closing. Now we're #82... hmmm, that's sloooooow. How much longer? "just a few weeks, Prestige can only close 5-6 per day". June comes and goes... July... by that point, I'm ticked. We called AGAIN... now we're 55?? "Just a few more weeks Mrs. S, we only close 2-3 per day". Now they're only closing 2 or 3 per day??? We call in August... our closing is 20-something.

In September, we're told we are supposed to close on the 28th. FINALLY. The morning of Friday, Sept 28th, David calls to say that the "doctor and his wife" are supposed to be at the closing at 10:30 AM. At 11:15, he calls to inform me that they didn't make it to closing... must be stuck in traffic. Hmmmm. At 3 PM we're told that they didn't show at all for their 11:45 AM appt (notice the conflict in story AGAIN).

On Monday, David calls to let us know that he personally went to their address and there was a "big drug bust with dogs and the works"... he was so scared because he (David) was even frisked. I thought, WHAT A STORY. But they have my $699, so I play along. He promises that he'll get it sold QUICKLY and we'll jump to number one in closing. "Nothing like this has ever happened to us before," states David.

Today I received an interesting call from another Timeshare Marketing company. When I said that we were listed with Prestige... the man on the phone said: "let me guess... a doctor was supposedly buying your condo, but the day of close there was either a drug bust or he had a heart attack right in the closing office."

I've been ripped off... and I'm going to be shouting this from the mountain tops! Prestige needs to not only reimburse my $699, they need to pay for a REAL company to market my condo... we've now lost 7 months playing into their SCAM. I will only recend my comments if they meet that criteria.

If you've heard a similar story from this ripoff company, please contact me. I'm considering a class action suit.

Thats interesting becuase I had successs with them. I was a little apprehensive about the 800 dollar fee I will be honest but they expedited the sale on closed on the timeshare condo within 3 months. I received daily updates and got an offer of about half of what I paid for it.

Prestige Timeshare Marketing Advertises Timeshares Until They Are Sold

AUTHOR: Prestige Time Share Marketing - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Prestige Timeshare marketing is a fully licensed and bonded For-Sale-By-Owner timeshare marketing and advertising company. We are not a real estate broker and we never claim to be such. The advertising program involves mass-marketing to other sellers/renters to maximize exposure to potential buyers or renters. Prestige Timeshare marketing advertises our customers' properties until they sell and we charge no renewal fees or additional costs at the time of sale, nor do we accept a commission for helping the customer sell their property. Within twenty four hours of signing up with our company, the customers' property is posted to our inventory, at which point, our services are rendered. When a prospective buyer makes an offer on a particular property, we forward that offer to the seller, at which point, the seller may accept or reject the offer and proceed accordingly.

It is not uncommon for the sale of a property to be in the works, and for one reason or another, not follow through to closing. In this case there was a doctor, from Venezuela, and he was interested in buying not just this property in our inventory, but several properties. He never showed up for the closing. We investigated the situation, and the doctor had been arrested. Needless to say, he was no longer interested in following through with the purchase of these properties. I know that these customers are disappointed, as are we. Unfortunately, these things happen.

The bottom line is that no property sells overnight. In fact it is extremely difficult to sell timeshares, which is exactly why the company exists; to help individuals advertise their property using professional, mass-marketing techniques, in order to provide the customer with the exposure and visibility their property needs, to get it sold.

We stand by our service and we are so sure that the service we provide is the best, that if a customer is able to sell their property, with-in 25% of their asking price, either on their own, or through another service, we will refund their marketing fee, in full. We will keep marketing all of the properties in our inventory, and we will do so because we know that the only way to get anything sold, is to advertise.
