After going to Hoovers first for research, then other websites, I saved the best for last. Thanks to all those who helped me not make the same mistake they had. My time was best spent reading all the postings here, rather than sitting through the well rehearsed, and much hyped "interview."

Today, I responded to an ad in the classifieds as did some people who seemed like they just got off at McDonald's. With a business degree, why would I want to work for anyone who would hire any warm body with $200?

I realize that Primerica is legit, but just as much as the paint protectant and window etching I had to sell in the car business. That's why I left cars and wouldn't be caught dead selling overpriced term life insurance or loaded mutual funds. Not to mention, recruiting my family and friends. Primerica may offer real services but they aren't the best or even close. Primerica is like other financial services except with a Mary Kay spin.

In my first interview, it was just like all the others above had said it would be. Offices were temporary, promises of $100K incomes, and travel. At what cost? My friends and family, my self respect, ohh and $200. It was also suggested that my wife join me already without knowing anything about her. They don't care who you recruit, as long as there are a bunch of them.

When I sold cars I didn't ask customers to come to work with me. Asking for referrals is much different than asking them to sell for you. I wouldn't have sold cars very long if I had to split my commission.

Thanks for saving me much time and agony. My wife and family will be grateful. It's too bad others can't see past the hype of the pyramid. I'm glad I was smart enough to end up here last. Now I need to call those people I had to put down as references and wise them up to Primerica so they aren't suckered because of my temporary stupidity.
