Protected Van Lines / State to State Moves Vanlines move Internet

My experience with Protected Van Lines was horrible in a move from Cleveland to Los Angeles. It was as horrible as described by the other reviews listed. PVL is a brokerage company that never identified themselves as such in the beginning or I would have run for the hills. I know so many other people who have moved who had horror stories about brokers so I would have avoided them like the plague. Anything that went wrong was always directed to the absolutely lousy movers that they contracted with. They used State To  State Moves that was the worst company I have ever dealt with. PVL also low balled my estimate and when the movers came they jacked the price way up. Because I needed to be out in two days I was held hostage. I paid them a lot of money to send out horrifying incompetent movers who were picked up on a street corner to work.  This information was told to me by one of the “movers”.

I paid them extra to pack my breakables and they managed to break an irreplaceable vase before they even left my house. I was devastated. They put tape directly onto furniture which left a sticky residue when removed. They broke several pieces of furniture including some antique pieces. Several breakables were destroyed in the move. The best part was that two televisions had been packed in their original boxes and were empty when we opened them. Of course PVL would not address the issue and referred me to State To State Moves who also did nothing about it. I agree with the other reviews posted that their customer service is non existent. They do not pick up the phone and were poor to answer messages left which only added to the frustration from this whole situation. I could go on and on about this horrible experience but in the end I made a formal complaint about both companies to the Department Of Transportation who is investigating. This company as well as State To State moves needs to go out of business. I could go on and on but I hope these reviews keep other people from going through the same awful experience and save themselves a lot of heartache.
